Three guys go to a convention and they need to find a cheap hotel room. They find a cheap hotel, 25 bucks a night. Unfortunatly they only have 1 room left. So the man behind the counter says ok, 10 bucks a person to have the room. Each man gives him 10 dollars and go to their room.(30 dollars for the room) Couple hours go by, and the man behind the counter feels bad that he charged them 30 dollars when it should be 25. Man behind the counter goes up to their room and says look I think I over charged you on your room. So to be fair he hands each man a one dollar bill and shoves the other 2 in his pocket. The three guys are like wow, that's great, we got the hotel room for 9 dollars a piece, $27 dollars for the night. (9X3=27) My question is, if each man paid 9 dollars(27 dollars for the night) and the man behind the counter put 2 dollars in his pocket......Where's the other dollar?

9X3=$27 BUT THEY PAID 10X3=$30 so there was $3 left over and then man only pocketed $2.. when actually he pocketed $3.. I think..

The room is $25 Clerk pocketed$2 idiots got back $3 Total is $30 Or..... The Room is $27 ($9x3 = $27 isn't accurate because it should be $25 for the room plus the $2 the clerk pocketed to equal the $27.) Then add to that the $3 the clerk gave back to the idiots to equal the $30. There is no extra dollar....it's just how the info is presented in the question. Very deceiving to trick us into thinking there's an extra dollar!
