Work and Food

I returned tonight from a 4 day business trip at Washington DC and am still wondering why it is that companies brandish lavish amounts of food on their employees? Monday night's fair was Italian food from a place called Ritzi's, Tuesday night we went to Morton's Steak House and last night we went to Manhatten's Seafood Grill in Georgetown. Don't get me wrong, the grand treatment is alright but it reminds me how easy it is to eat way too much when the other guy is paying and everyone is engaged in having a good food time. I am sure there are others out there that can relate as to how hard it is to maintain a healthy diet while out of town on business. I know that years ago I decided to decline the alcohol on business functions and now folks are used to my drinking ice tea as they down the suds. Now maybe it is time to politely decline some of the high life / high calorie entrees and begin ordering salads. Bottom line, is that I came back home feeling bloated, sluggish and stuffed from all the excessive eats. Now on to fighting all the Holidays treats. Ron

you can do whatever you acknowledge and set your mind too. If that fails.. obtain great amount of support and work a 12 step program. If that fails.. look into a revision It helps me to post about it.. also helps to occupy my time with something else.. funny how when I go thriftstore shopping food is NEVER thought of. When on these out of town dinners.. be strong.. and just blurt out salad to the waiter. Or a good steak would be high protein. Once ordered your done.. no going back.. no eating off a coworkers plate

My brother-in-law works for a company that actually has an added benefit of food..... They provide him with a menu in the morning when he arrives at work, with 3 selections for lunch, and he makes his selection and the company has his lunch selection delivered. EVERYDAY! Before I had surgery, I was jealous.....but now, I realize.....that's HORRIBLE. Imagine how much money they spend DAILY on providing food to every employee. I think there is about 200+ employees. If it was $7.00 a plate...that is $1,400.00 a day! CRAZY! But I think you are doing good..... make good food choices, even when they are buying.... which doesn't limit you to ONLY salad, but grilled chicken, grilled fish, turkey, etc....
