Anyone Else....
Making a concious effort to loose thru the holiday season's instead of gain? Last year I gained 10lbs..I felt invincible and ate cookie after cookie..well by late January I noticed my jeans were getting pretty tight....(calm down ladies...unfortunatly I have no pics..)
This year I have decided I will not let that happen again, and am actually loosing thus far. Down about 4lbs...Only 5 more to go to match my all time low. (I did slip up and have a sliver of my G'mas pecan pie that she makes for me every year at Thanksgiving) She watches to see if I take any..... I decided by February 17th, (my three year anny..write it down..I expect a big deal to be made) I want to be 10lbs below my all time low and get to my personal goal of 225...
Now some of you might say 225 that is not that small...but for me it is. As my doctor put it, I am large framed. Tall, Broad shoulders, etc.....and 225 he said would be the perfect weight for me. If I got below 200lbs, he would be very worried. Most people can't believe I weigh 240lbs now. ~flexs arm~
So...to sum it up..what are you doing...are you trying harder than last year? I know this is a hard time for all of us...especially in the office environment were they lay out cookies constantly.
And Jay..if you read this.Congrats on the Jets Win vs. the steelers...I was praying the dolphins pulled it off last night. I am an Eagles fan and almost had a conronary on Sunday night. I still can't belive they lost that game.....McNabb might have put them over the top...oh well..

I'm with ya! I just had my one year post-op visit today and while I'm very pleased with how far I've come, I'm also disapointed that I didn't do better. I discussed this with my doc and he said he's very happy with where I am considering where I started but for me to get to goal, I need to buckle down and work for it harder now than I did in the beginning. He suggested that I go back to the 'stages' that I started with right after surgery to get the ball rolling again, so to speak.
I've gotten a little too complacent with my calorie intake and not diligent enough with my exercise. That's going to change. Starting tomorrow. (Don't want to rush things... )
So yes.....I'm definitely trying harder than last year considering last year I had just had surgery and all I had to do to lose weight was sneeze!
