Happy Monday!!
Goooood Monday morning all! I'm sitting here eating some oatmeal waiting for some pictures to upload to be printed and thought I'd pop in and say hello!
Ron and I had a neat weekend. We flew to St Louis last minute and spent the weekend with my Mom and Grams sort of a pre-turkey day visit since we're spending next weekend in OK with his family. We went to a bird shop in STL on Saturday just to see what kinds of goodies they might have and had THE neatest moment...
I was walking around looking at birdie toys with my mom and I see this HUGE bird up front ... gorgeous, blue with yellow colored skin around her eyes ... I think ... no, it couldn't be ... but it was ... a Hyacinth Macaw. Now some who don't enjoy birds might not give a flip about seeing a bird, but let me tell you, in the birdie world this was a major treat! The Hyacinth is one of the largest and most endangered Macaws and they're VERY expensive to own ... $7500 to $10000. So I say to my mom .... "Go get Ron ... NOW!"
I approached the birds owner and overheard him telling another gentleman that Zoe (the Hyacinth), was very gentle and sweet, would step up for anyone, and is wonderfully delightful as a pet. He actually let me step her up and hold her for quite some time and then she stepped up for Ron too.
Truly one of those WOW moments life gives us periodically that boosts our spirits!
Soooo in closing, thanks for a great weekend to my honey Ron, ILYSVM!!
Andddd ... tell us what you did over the weekend! Hope it was grand and HAVE A HAPPY MONDAY!!!!!!!!
P.S. I'm uploading some pix right now and as soon as they're through, I'll post a link.
Ciao!

Good morning.....
Congrats on completing your clinicals!!!
Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend!
I flew my daughter in from California on Saturday. She is living with her dad. She will be here for a week to stay for Thanksgiving. THen I will fly her back down for Christmas. But my weekend consisted of the usual..........trying to keep up on the housecleaning, laundry, dishes, etc.... Since I had my knee surgery about 2 months ago, all of the house chores are quite a challenge. Thank God I have kids to help out.
Can't wait to see the pics.
Have a GREAT day!!
Jen
I dont know what you said either....(I'll read on my break....)
but wanted to tell you I saw my mom yesterday...she has 21 people coming over for thanksgiving....bought a 19 lb bird.
I shook my head & said, "must I teach you EVERYTHING."
I had to give her that link I showed you to prove she needs a waaaaay bigger bird.
I told her my plans to become an iron chef. and not to mess with me.
she looked at me & said, "boy you sure are sassy today."
Now I am cooking the other turkey I convinced her to buy.
& potatoes.
okay..
i gotta headache tho
I started selling on ebay.. I have two bids so far..
I found a collectible at the thriftstore for $1.50 and it's gonna go high.. I hope already have 1 bid for $19.99 and 8 people watching it.. up for 6 more days!
I put two pair of boots up 6 days ago and was excited when I had a watcher on each and then Dan told me it was him... stalker.. but I do have other watchers on them now.. I hope they sell.. they don't fit me..
anywho.. it's my NEW ADDICTION.. we addicts need good addictions you know
reminds me.. i need to see who payment works.. I have paypal only.. but don't know how it works..
That is AWESOME, Rhonda....
Kevin just told me a couple days ago to look into selling stuff on Ebay for a little extra cash....but I am sooo lazy about mailing stuff already that I am scared. It is about 20-30 minutes to the nearest post office.
I have a paypal account....and each time I have received funds from someone....here is what happened. I get the payment, and then all I do is click a button saying to transfer it to my bank account. (I only have one bank account set up thru Paypal). It takes about 2-3 days for the funds to transfer...so there is not immediate access. However, my sisters and my mom are regular Ebay sellers and they have a Paypal Debit card....they can go to any store/ATM and use it as a Debit card with a pin number.
P.S. I think you have selected a PERFECT addiction.
11 people are watching it now this is exciting..
currently I just have a charge card set up with paypal.. I guess I need to link my checking account there too then
thanks Reboog.. and start selling it's fun.. I'm doing it just so it takes care of my thriftstore buying addiction.. I think I'll go hit my mom's basement up tho.. she hoards stuff too.. poppa said he would help me with the mailing off part.. cuz I know I will not like that part too. I'm so proud of him.. yesterday he sat in the floor and wrapped all his presents to his family to mail off for christmas.
OMG.....He is done with Christmas shopping....
I don't know if I dislike him or TOTALLY admire him. LOL
Now I am curious what your big find was. I think I need to STALK you on Ebay too. LOL My mom will come across a big find once in a while. Her best find was at a yard sale....she found a big box of about 50 sets of crouchet needles made of elephant thingies...(damn, can't think of the name)....Ivory, maybe. I think....
The whole box was $7.00.
Anyway.... She sold them seperately, and made anywhere from $25.00 to $125.00 per set of needles....She made over $1,000......from a $7.00 investment.
WTG... MOM!!
Another one....she found a little Chinese game at a yard sale....with missing pieces...all tattered and broken.... $0.25..... It sold for almost $150.00.
Now I don't know that I have an eye for finding stuff like that. I most definitely would have overlooked that game...and the crouchet needles. Oh well. I should just sell all Kevins car stuff.... He must have a million car stereo pieces in the garage. I don't think he would approve tho.
P.S. Kevin says Hi and sends a BIG OLE' HUG to you....
