What I said to Marc = could help us all
I posted to Marc the link to the Living With WLS pouch thingy and figured for many of yall that don't know about it and might not read Marc's rant, I ought to post it again:
http://www.5daypouchtest.com/index.html
I've heard good things about it, for those of us who need to go back to basics and start fresh, to either lose what we regained or to keep from regaining.
*hugs and stuff* It is so past my bed time.......
Good Morning.....
I read through this entire 'test'....and it seems great for the 5 days.....but what I 'think' Marc is talking about.....and what I am going thru is......this is like getting on a permanent diet. It is HARD to diet.....hence, why we all got surgery.
In the first year after surgery.....we don't want to even know if we can tolerate sugar and carbs, so we didn't try it. But eventually we try it, and we find out we CAN eat it....and it is even nice to 'get back to normal' ....eating what everyone else is eating.
I know that the surgery was not a cure-all on its own, we are 'supposed' to eat right and exercise as well, but in all reality, none of us had the will power to do those things without surgery, how does getting surgery give us the will power or mind-set to do them for life?
I am curious if someone has tried this and if it worked? If so, how long did it work for you?
a few of us on here *including self* did it.. by my second day I just wanted a damn egg.. made me appreciate them.. and I *thought* Lord.. I will not complain about my protein meals again.. I lost some weight..
but hence..
like all diets.. get off it, and gain some back.. and weeks later eating green peanut m&m's and donuts
probably just good to find your weakness and try to find solutions around them.. I am VERY GOOD when shopping at the store.. where I can read labels and see how many calories something has and not buy *bad* food. My weakness however, is work.. where people bring food in and I don't see the labels and I just pop it in my mouth. Also I have to remember that if I buy peanut butter for work... I eat it and too much it is fattening. Also I have to watch the sunflower seeds.. I will graze on them constantly.. and they are high on salt. ANYWHO.. already ate a m&m cookie this morning so what do I know
Mmmmmm.....
green peanut M&M's and donuts!!!! *drool*
I agree.....I do *pretty good* at the grocery store.....but I have a bunch of kids to think about. I try to make their snack foods healthy.....like Rice Krispy treats, granola bars, popcorn, applesauce, crackers...etc....
Now that I am not working, I do much better with no eating out, and no office snacks... but I am always baking.....making cookies, fudge, DUMP CAKE....LOL
I just envy people that can set their mind to something and stick with it.....I must bore easily! LOL
Hugs to you on this FREEZING Monday morning.
