Aww, I'll keep them in my thoughts. There's no threat of fire directly where I live but the smoke and ash from the fires in the county has made the sky brown here. I'm supposed to be driving down to San Diego tonight as well but with all the fire there, I'm wondering if my conference will be cancelled. hmmm. Anyway, I hope everyone stays safe! Becca

One of the fires is burning about a mile from the house I grew up in. It is in Canyon Country, California.... A small little place, but lots of mountains to burn. I hope no lives are lost. It is very sad! Hugs, Jen

Of all of the ones you mentioned...Becca and I are the closest to the fires. I live about 12 miles from the canyon country fire and the new magic fire. Becca is in Ventura and I guess the Malibu fire is her closest fire. For those who have not been here during a Santa Ana wind event...well lets just say it is a hot wind with wind gusts to 100+ miles an hour! I am sure that towards the end of the week the fires will be under control and the wind will die down. All is well with me...and I hope with everyone else. D.

Heya D! I hope the fires stay away. Twelve miles is a little too close for comfort. Fires would have a hard time getting to me because first they'd have to cross all the farmland in Oxnard. The winds certainly *could* carry some embers, but it would be unlikely. Thought about you this weekend because I was down in Pasadena for a football game and, of course, passed right by your work.
