Well we went to the hospital yesterday and met a dcotor that so does not look like a doctor.. instead, he should be on the NFL. LOL We talked about out familly history as well as our own, re: birth defects, health issues.. etc.. The only issue was that Jonathan had a sister that passed away due to heart defects before he was even born, she lived for about a month or two. So we went on with the ultrasound and he told us everything he was looking at.. and what everything measured. I saw it all.. from the baby's brain, skull, femur, hand, foot, kidneys, bladder.. belly.. all of it. All measured to where I am in pregnancy and nothing looked abnormal to him. This lowered my chances from 1 in 16 to 1 in 32 of having a Downs Syndrome baby. A little more comfort found there but it is still not so great but my heart and my gut says there is nothing to worry about. So, I opted against having the amniocentesis done (which gave me a 1 in 300 chance of losing the pregnancy.. slim odds but not a chance I felt I needed to take) and instead opted to have a fetal echocardiogram done at 22 weeks. Babies with Downs Syndrome normally have defects with their hearts.. so this would help rule that out in a less invasive way. This baby ... from what I could tell, was very laid back and let the doctor look at everything. Never really moved much.. maybe sleeping.. ?? Mallory was all over the place and I had to keep laying on one side, then the other, then on my back to make her cooperate, not this one. BTW: What do you guys think for GIRLS names??? Seems we are sticking to the PINK team. Thank you for checking on me.. I saw Ann's post.. It means a lot!!!! Beckie

That's wonderful news.. but I'm thinking the doctor made a mistake.. surely it's a boy.. if laid back and letting the doctor look at EVERYTHING a girl just wouldn't act that way.. this is a cool site.. I like many and going with the *M* theme.. Mackenzie.. Maggie.. Marium.. and really like Miranda which means.. extraordinary, to be admired *Latin* http://www.justmommies.com/baby_names/girlsm.php

Awesome news!!! Congrats on having another girl..... My daughter is having another girl too. My daughter picked the name Destiny, named after a daughter that I had. I thought that was nice that my daughter did that. I never heard those odds for an amniocentisis..... I may have skipped out on it as well. Let us know how the echocardio goes...
