Hi Guys..WARNING: downer post
I dont get to post much anymore .. but I try when I can..
I also never ask for prayers, good vibes.. whatever you want to offer but I really could use them right now.
let me give you a breif rundown.. cliff notes if you will..
Jonathans surgery was 3 weeks ago yesterday. He is unable to bend to put socks on or shoes.. he cant lift more than a gallon of milk and he cant hardly sleep because his back is still so tender.
I am 17 weeks along in my pregnancy..
Mallory is a 1 year old toddler who, once she figured out that her feet were made for walking, hasnt stopped yet. I love her to pieces.. she makes it all worthwhile.
We found a house on the market that we fell in love with. We went to look at it and it was perfectly priced (for CT standards) and has 5 acres of land and 1800 sq. feet of living space.. PERFECT for us. We decide to make an offer of $2K less than the asking price and they pay closing.. the woman accepted. YAY.. (all is good until you read what is next).
Our house is not on the market yet. We have exactly 5 days to finish the cosmetics that needed to be completed before putting it on the market.. remember, Jon cant bend and I cant lift much. Doors needed to be rehung, kitchen needed to be finished, laminate to replace carpet in bedroom, paint .....
Now is where I need you... With all of this happening right now.. the stress level can be higher than normal at times. Well, to add to it, I got a call from my OB yesterday saying my quad screening (blood test for birth defects) came back elevated for Downs Syndrome. They said it is a 1 in 16 chance. So, I am scheduled for tomorrow morning for a level 2 ultrasound with a specialist from UCONN and hopefully, the ultrasound will rule out any defects. I am scared to death and I am at my breaking point. So, please put in a good word for my lil bean to be ok and for my sanity to remain in tact.
Love you guys and I am sorry that I cant be here as much as I once was.. I do read up and keep up with the changes in everyones life.. but just dont always have the time to post. I am also sorry that the one time I come to post, I am asking for something.
Thank you in advance.
Beckie
Hey sweetie... Its me Debby...
1st.. maybe put an ad on Craigs list that your needing to hire someone to help with the stuff for the house... a lot of times you can find good help for little cost.
Second I had the test for all three of my boys.. same results as you... all three are perfect...
And I dont post much anymore either but felt I needed to let you know that this test is the worst if you ask me... I regretted even allowing it to be ran, the stress the first time was horrid...
Hang in there it all works out in the end..
Debby
Hey Beckie, hang in there sweetie, trust me when I say I know what it feels like to be
tested with a baby on the way, just do what you can without freakin' or stressing, and you'll be suprised by how much you'll get done in the time you have to do it.
The four of you are gonna be just fine. You'll all be chilling in your new crib in no time
Also, allways remember that this is the place you should come to to ask for any and all support. I hardly ever post myself, and when I have posted I've always been able to count on the kind words I receive.
Beckie,
You've got lots of prayers coming your way. You've certainly got a lot on your plate right now but know that you've also got a lot of friends that are here to support you.
I wish I lived closer so I could come help you with the work that needs to be done on your house. But I agree....find someone to do the work for you. There are always handymen out there that will do the work. It will be worth putting out a little money to get rid of the stress of worrying. You don't need that extra stress right now.
I don't know anything about the test you have tomorrow....but I've got my fingers crossed that all goes well.
Take care of yourself, Beckie.
Chris
