AHHHHHH!
I'm going to die of itchness. I'm not kidding.
I've done google searches... can't find anything.
So I'm wondering - if anyone that's had LOW iron... had a side affect of ITCHING? My whole body itches. I've itched so much that I'm red and bleeding in some places. It's driving me insane.
Yes, I've been to the doctors - He gave me meds, I took them. It didn't go away.
I've changed soaps. I've went to allergy-free soap powders. I've went back to basic shampoo and conditoner. I've went back to a shower a day, rather then 2 because maybe that's just to much ho****er on a redheaded sensitive skin. I've bought the new Aveeno lotion - made just for itchy, sensitive skin, coool night.
No luck.
I swear, I'm going to die from this. If not this, it's going to be from going insane from the itchyness.
If this happens, remember me....... ok?
*sigh*
What's your diet like, and do you drink?
I eat too many carbs over an extended period of time, I break out in hives and itch.
I drink alcohol, I break out in hives and itch.
Certain meds do that to me too.
As for dry skin....work from the inside out, not the outside in. Proper diet, I eat fish oil tabs, and keep myself extremely hydrated because I hate itching....or waking up the next morning to bruised arms and legs with fingernail claw marks all over me. it's not fun.
Just a thought! Also, be honest with yourself about your diet or drinking patterns. I would lie to my dr he'd prescribe something, it didn't work
ps, I have stock in aveeno.
*shrug*
I'll admit - my diet sucks right now. I went to michigan, so I'm broke. LOL.
I've actually drank more alcohol lately, then ever before. Had a drinking weekend - 3 weekends ago. Then drank at the wedding last weekend. -- I never even thought drinking could be combined with this. Wow.
The doctor gave me some sort of steriod (sp?) drug, for the itching. I took it for a week and honestly? It didn't do well. My regular doctor comes back in 2 weeks. I think I'm just going to wait for her, rather then go back to her fill in.
I'm just literally at my wits end with this.
I use to have pretty smooooth senistive redheaded skin -- now it's just icky! Really really icky! Grrrrrrr!
Thanks for the idea, Liz.
I'll try and eat better and drinking really needs to stop anyhow, my ear is ringing outta my head. Which is a side affect of drinking, for me. Grrr.
Thanks again!!!!!
What meds, usually help you? If you don't mind me asking?
Steroids did nothing for me but make me gain weight.
Then my dr's kept telling me I have a yeast infection, yeast infection yeast infection.....I fought tooth and nail because when I thougth yeast infection I thought itchy private area or something wrong with my privates.
Duh! GI dr said a yeast infection in your GI tract. If you read up on GI yeast infections your # 1 symptom of even knowing you have one is itchy hive like-ness.
How do you get rid of a yeast infection in your GI? Cut out all yeast like products-carbs, beer, alcohol, carbs, carbs, and carbs.
I haven't had a hive infestation in almost 3 months....oh look, Liz quit drinking all together 82 days ago, and improved my diet since then. Oh wow Liz, you lost 12 pounds, and you have no more hives, and are a much happier person.
Don't ask how it works Katie....I have no idea, but I know it worked for me.
HOLY ****!
I'm trying your diet!
Cause hello? No yeast infection - down there.
Although, years ago - I had this one red spot, under my boob, that itched every once in awhile... nothing major. When I went for my pap smear... he found it doing the breast exam. Turned out it was a form of yeast infection. Gave me a cream RX to put on it... went away within 3 days. I wish I still had that stuff. LOL.
Congrats on 82 days of NO drinking!!!!!!!!!!!! That's awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the tips - I'm gonna try the no carbs, no booze. - I know I've been eating more carbs then usual. Damn stupid carbs.
