Ghosts, Turkeys & Santa Claus
Sas and I dined at Cracker Barrel today and witnessed first hand the evidence of holiday retail season in full overdrive. In no particular order there are Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas wares all over their gift shop. I believe that Halloween sales represent the 2nd highest revenue generator trailing only Christmas purchases.
I guess one has to understand that business is business and that retailers must stock what sales but covering all the seasonal bases this early in the year is confusing. I mean what if you accidently pick out the fake mistletoe and hang it over the doorway for Halloween? Or get a hob goblin knick knack and place it over the chimney with care. And heaven forbid that one should put out fake pumpkins instead of cookies for Ol' Saint Nick.
Pretty soon holiday wares will be sold 24-7 all year long.
Nothing worse than a fake reindeer with your meat loaf if you know what I mean.
