Anyone get a B-12 shot?

I am gonna get a B-12 shot tomorrow. My bloodwork shows I am very anemic and have nearly no iron in my system (and no iron reserves -- whatever that means).. and my B-12 is very low also. No wonder I am exhuasted all the time. Anyway... I am taking more Iron... but I am also getting a B-12 shot tomorrow. Anyone ever get one? I get the impression I am gonna have a lot more energy... but I am curious as to how else it might affect me. .

I was low on b-12 years ago after doing the Optfast diet. Discovered this only after my ankle kept going out on me.. and the neurologist did blood work and saw I was low. He tested me for pernicious anemia.. and I did not have that.. but was just low. I took some shots.. no biggie.. just a shot and got better. Amazing how b-12 effects ya.. hope you are feeling better soon..

I'm going through the same thing right now... Got all my blood tests down 2 weeks ago... then they called me in to get MORE blood tests... Got my b-12 shot... My iron is low. low. lowwww. They're making me a blood stool test (I think thats what it's called?) -- I can't do it yet though cause of my lovely monthly friend. I can't start taking my iron pills until I finish that... I also have hernias back... lovely, huh? All I wanna do is SLEEP. Months like this... I wish I never had the surgery. To answer your question -- I get the b-12 shots monthly, when I remember them... it'll boost your engery a bit, yes. My new doctor said taking b-12 pills was pretty usless for us...

ugh...i am so sorry......i had one under my breasts and it is not fun......i gotta lose some more weight and who knows if i will have another one...did not even know of the first one.....guess i had too much skin and fat there....ugh....hope you feel better!

I did get it taken care of but then had to be fixed again....so I know your feeling..... Married life??? I love knowing I am married to the love of my life but we are still not living together and I miss him like crazy....it is horrible!!!! It will be soon though....soon! I cannot wait!!!!

HOORAY! Anemic, my ER dr, and pcp have asked Mike if I bruise like I do all the time. He said yes, (damn husband), then I had to restart the iron supplements, shat blood, ER, colonoscopy again....*sigh* Good luck Maria.
