$350 for a Cake?

Yesterday, I scored a chance to go to the Yankees/RedSox game. As we carpooled into the city, we stopped to pick up the final member of our group. Together with his wife, the guy owns a high-end bakery in Fairfield County. Frankly, they are amazing (and he has appeared of the Food Network). While I understood gigantic cakes for weddings could cost a boatload, I never imagined a regular sized cake could start at $350. I am thinking of getting the cake at Stop and Shop.!!!

Cake is not cheap anymore, When I used to work/own in the family coffee house/bakery I built a couple of cakes that went over 300, it all depnds on ingredients and how fancy people want it. I did a 7 layer Wedding cake with imported swiss chocolate that I got over a 1000 for. Let them eat cake! Paul
