Ok, I know I shouldn't, but...

Since I'm without a male counterpart and only a widowed mother (who is out doing something fun while I'm working), I wanted to share this. Well, ok, not share, but kind of stick my chest out and brag a bit, cuz I am both stoked and VERY surprised. I have been in a Certified Public Manager's program with the State of Oklahoma for the last two years. The requirements were 237 hours of courses in management related things, 3 projects (papers) that deal with your work place, and pass 4 tests. Ok, I've got all that done and graduate on Sept 6 with 42 other people out of the whole state. Anyway, I just got a call that one of my papers is a finalist for some award about leadership and team member motivation, and conflict resolution. I am so stoked! I'm gonna be like those Oscar nominees and say "It's just an honor to be nominated", but I really want to win it! Cross fingers! Thanks for letting me share my pride for a moment. Thanks everyone for the well wishes. Late this afternoon we were told the Governor was going to be at our graduation and taking pics with us the next week. Since I'm out of the country that next week, I've asked for another date with da gov. My girl is working on it. Not really that big of a deal, but hell it's another thing to hang on my office wall. Right now, I've got the thing decorated in New Orleans, Mardi Gras, and my most favoritist teddy bears. I know, mish mash, but it works. My most prized possession in my office is the Ty Teddy Bear that says "I heart Louisiana" on his chest for helping with the refugees from New Orleans. Amazing how stupid little tid bits like that bear can be the most precious of things.
