Kai will not see God.
I am bummin' hard. it seems that Kai will never see God. After one awesome season finale two nights ago, that was soooo good, but left so many more questions than answers, HBO pulled the plug on my favorite TV show, John from Cincinatti. I know it's a small little tiny thing in the big scheme of things but it's one of the few things this summer that relaxed, interested and challenged me intellectually. I was sooo into this show. I'm really really bummed over this. I really want a donut.
btw, i blame you all for no****ching! dang it. TV is so rarely that good. And almost never that challenging.
I have friends at work tha****ched the show I don't have HBO so I couldn't but Oh were they bummed...they loved the show! I want a donut too
Are you and Mel going crazy with wedding plans? It may be nuts but I know you guys must be so happy and excited. I think you make a beautiful couple!
Big Hugs to you and Mel
Barb
thanks Barb!
that show was sooo cool. but it required a lot of thought. it wasn't for the spoon fed tv generation who dismiss anything complex and refuse to be challenged. The show required not only thought but patience as it developed. Putting on immediately following the Sopranos finale and then giving it the Sopranos time slot was probably a huge mistake on HBOs part. People wanted violence, they didn't want to be challenged to consider their own spiritual beliefs and how they fit into a mysterious appearance of modern day miracles being connected to a morally pure simpleton of unknown origins who speaks of the words of his father.
I never watched Deadwood because I wasn't into the western genre. My mother loved the show, which I never understood. Every time she watched it, she'd call me and ***** about how much "filthy language" they had. When I asked if it was that offensive why did she watch it her answer was, "because its a good show". Then stop *****in' bout it, Mom!
I'm happy because they're making a "Sex and the City" movie.
I didn't read this one and posted the link knowing you had expressed interest from episode one. It seems as though the general consensus is that the average Joe didn't understand the show's premise. However HBO has had some big hits by letting the writers and producers demonstrate creativity and avoiding the canned themes we see so often on prime time television.
Kind of surprised to see them pull the plug so early. The negative feedback must have been way over the top for them to eat all the promo costs.
