Old Grandparents

My Grandma Brister turns 87 years old today. She gave us all a scare as she has been having health issues and just got out of the hospital yesterday. A little bittersweet this year since I just lost my Granny Cooper (on my Mom's side). You see both of my Grandmothers were born in 1920 and lived in the same community for all these past 50 plus years. Both of them would turn the same age (Granny Cooper in March and Grandma Brister in July). So today I call to say Happy Birthday to Grandma Brister and think about Granny Cooper. I truly do believe that Grandparents (Especially Old Grandparents are one of the greatest treasures one can have). Well, I have to go. Just got a call from Cathy and she ran out of gas at Starbucks in Dallas. Have to go save the day. I guess right now she is thankful for an Old Husband... Ron

Hi Ron, I know what you mean and how you feel. Unfortunately, today we have to put my grandma in a rest home, she cant care for herself anymore and it is tearing my mom to pieces and it is difficult to do. I lost my other grandma almost 2 years ago and miss her dearly. So I do believe that our grandparents are treasures. Steve

Cathy and her Mom had to put her Grandmother (Grams) in an Assisted Living Home about a year and 1/2 ago. It is a very tough decision and one that affects a whole family. Hope all goes well for your entire family.

Well at least Cathy ran out of gas at Starbucks! What luck! Well now that I think nabout it, here in California, almost anywhere you run out of gas is walking distance from a Starbucks! LOL. I have to agree completely on the treasures of grandparents. Mine make me laugh on the daily. xoxoxoxo.
