Home again. I think I may have a pinched nerve or muscle. Not sure what the doctor can do for it. Anyone have an opinion?

probably x-rays, mri or cat scan, then the first line of defense is probably muscle relaxants and pain killers. then if that don't work probably an anti-inflammatory (would have to be serious enough to warrant a steroidal anti-inflammatory since you can't take non-steroidal due to WLS). I'm not doctor but that's usually how it's gone down with me and various injuries. my experience also tells me you're better off with a hottie that does massage.

That's what I figured. Ehhhh..............why go through all that when in a few days it'll probably heal up. YES I DO need that hottie that does massages......with happy endings too.

Errr......is there someone else we know that has a surgiversary today (or did someone else catch it and I like, totally missed it)??? Like YOU! I didn't realize until I read it on the Singles board. So happy S-day to you as well. And to everyone else out there on this board and any other board that is celebrating a surgiversary day today.

that's not what i said! if you want to get into that i'd say that because you got hurt at work you damn well oughta go to the doctor and have it documented. in a few days you might be worse, not better.

Have ya been to a chiropractor? Sometimes they can fix ya in one visit and then keep ya straight in the follow ups. I have heard folks swear by them. Or maybe a physical therapist? How about a tens unit? I have had guys at the VA say they are the best thing they ever did for their backs. Perosnally I would start with the Chiro as they are fairly inexpensive and offer fast results. Good luck bud, Sparky

yeah, the key is the follow up. for life. because they are BAD for you and you have to keep going back more and more often for that temporary relief. They base their entire school of medicine on "sublaxation theory" which has been entirely disproven. Their schools also teach that they can cure cancer and colds by manipulating your back. They give temporary relief. which is why people swear by them and how they get suckered. but they're dangerous. If you need your joints manipulated (stop it Rhonda!) go to a D.O. or a physical therapist, they can do it gently and after making sure it won't cause worse problems. this has been a public service announcement from your friendly neighborhood asshole (i say that because now everyone who goes to a chiropractor will take what i said as a personal insult and maybe start a new board or something. )

I would try massage therapy first, and then chiropractic. Medication is only a mask to cover the pain. Good luck.
