Intro and Back to Basics
I quickly wanted to post a hello to Mel on this forum and then started reading some of it. There seems to be a friendly group of people here so I was thinking of pitching a tent and staying for a bit. I had RNY in March 2004. I never reached goal. I was 15 pounds away. Then I hit a stumbling block in my personal life and turned back to my old friend, food. So now I am about 45 pounds from goal .
I recently went back to basics. Protein firs****er, no sugar, no carbs, exercise. All the things that were so easy in the honeymoon period. Today someone at work recognized that I've lost weight in the last couple of weeks. I forgot what that felt like. So, here I am ! Getting back into the swing of things and saying hello to all! ~Vanessa (aka Van)
Good for you. I had surgery in March of 2003. Lost about 75 pound**** that blocking stone in my life and realized that I was living on a dead end road and got tired of being battered. Left that dead end road but by then had gained 50 back on. Started in January back on the road to recovery but found out my surgeon did not do what he was supposed to. I am too attached to these wackos here. Started with a shake program at the local hospital through a friend of mine and have lost about 42 pounds since April. Am very pleased, healthy, full of life, energy, and "piss and vinegar" as my grandfather used to say. Aiming for the stars!!!
Keep up the good work Van. It seems you are heading in the right direction!!!
