I'm sooooooo itchy!!!

My poison ivy is in more places than i thought!!! It was just on my inner arm now it is spreading down my arm and is on my tummy. I'M SO ITCHY!!!!!!! AND RED!!!!

Be careful of where you scratch or rub

a girl at work had it and went to the doctor for ointment..

Actually poison ivy doesn't spread when you scratch it... that's a myth. Poison Ivy emits a sap that when you touch it or brush against it is transferred to your skin. If you happen to touch that area and then touch another area, that's how it spreads. And if the sap is on a pair of gloves, your dog, your clothing and it touches your skin the rash will appear there. The Interestingly, and I did not know this as I have never had poison ivy before, the rash doesn't appear for 48-72 hours after and depending on the amount of sap can continue to appear over a period of days. Thus the reason I believe it looks like it spreads. It takes approx 14 days for the rash to run it's course.

my back is itchy. but i'm sure not poison ivy itchy. thats horrible. (i hear...i've never had it)

Make sure it doesn't get to your hands. It could get reallllllll bad then and will go places you don't ever want it to go. I can't say I feel your pain; I'm one of those fortunate people who can roll in it and never get poison ivy.

Yes mam, it is extremely uncomfortable. What are you using on it? It used to be that folks would use Calamine lotion.
