Today I went to see the new Harry Potter movie with my youngest son, Tanner. It has been a father/son tradition for us to go together to see Harry Potter movies on their opening day. The only thing I will say about Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is that if you like Harry Potter movies then you will like this latest cinematic addition. Shhhhhhh, don't tell Tanner but Harry Potter isn't exactly my cup of tea, so to speak. However it gives he and I great memories and a reason to get together and that is my cup of tea. Hugz, Ron

Everytime the books come out Melanie and Dakota go wait at midnight for them to go on sale. Months ago Dakota and i reserved a special edition copy for Melanie and a regular edition for him and he says to me that i have to get one too so i can go with them. I was extremely touched and really looking forward to it. But i will be in Costa Rica next friday when they go on sale at midnight. I won't be home till late the next day. SUCKS. I'm so disappointed. I had never read a HP book and then when i met Mel she sent me a boxed set and i read them straight through and really enjoyed them. Against all expectations. Maybe we can all go see the movie Friday or Sat night before i leave. I hope so. Of course Dakota is 16 now and has a hot lil' girlfriend and it's probably not "cool" to go with me and his mom. I hope that's not the case.

Who knows how kids will act when it comes to doing things with their parents. I have always been fortunate in that my boys continue to introduce me to their friends and want me to do things with them. Don't get me wrong, I don't go out with them every time they spend time with their friends. However I probably tell them more times than they tell me that I cannot go this time. I am very, very proud of how they have accepted Cathy and how she has accepted them. Every child is different and I find that if you just accept them for who they are and treat them with respect that they will reciprocate. It really isn't rocket science.
