Do you know anything about the group "The Cliks"? I was reading an article about their lead singer, Lucas Silveira, who is a transgender male. She had a double mastectomy, but chose to forego the male hormones to retain his voice. They called themselves a rock band, but looked a little on the punkish side. Was wondering if their music was any good. Yes, the transgendered thing caught my attention, but it was more about the "I don't care about what people think" thought pattern in the story. Before I search the Bible Belt for their music, I just wondered if you had any good/bad thoughts about the music.

I had never heard of them before today. I also saw the story on comcast's front page and went to their website to check them out. Just listened to a little on their website and wasn't bad but I'd have to hear more to give you a real opinion.

Little Richard, NY Dolls, David Bowie, Twisted Sister, Jane's Addiction etc. have long ago blown away any tendency i had towards judging a musical act based on their ability to dress "appropriately" for their gender. I heard a snippet of their music just now from Mel's pc and it sounded alright, i'd have to hear more of it to really judge whether or not i like it but it certainly sounded promising. Again it was just a snippet but it reminded me a little of The Strokes and a little of Chrissie Hynde. Punk is rock and to me The Ramones epitomize the punk look with long hair, black leather jackets, blue jeans and sneakers.... spiky hair, motorcycle boots and ripped t-shirts are also kind of punk in my book.

Alright Jay, I will give it to ya. The Ramones, the standard reference punk rock band. You didn't put Boy George on your different dressed list. Years ago, he probably was one of the first main stream singers to bring the trans-gender dress look to the public.
