I am watching the Food Network and learning how to make low calorie sugar free something or the others. The recipe calls for wontons, ricotta cheese, zesty lemon, e - i - i - 0, right? So we are just getting to the good part where she is assembling the little goodies and all of a sudden here come another thunder boomer and knocks my cable out. WTF, how am I going to learn how to eat right if my Food Network keeps getting zapped? Sorry Sas, no low calorie sugar free something of the others for us tonight! Anybody else torture yourself with the Food Network.

They sound SO good...but Jay is a non ricotta cheese eater so he gave it the thumbs down. Phooey! I wonder if you can substitute something else for the ricotta....hmmm

Yeah, eagle brand milk is a great substitute for anything others don't like. Oh, I forgot that was my old cooking rule before GBS... Come on Jay, don't be such a fuddy duddy.

You may want to read the review before you buy your ingredients... looks like in many instances people complained of a chemically after-taste. I like the suggestion someone made of using the vanilla sf pudding and adding lemon juice to it. You'll have to let me know how you they turn out. I think if I were going to make them I might substitute yogurt for the ricotta not quite the same though.

Mel, Mel, Mel Take a tip from ol' Ron. You prepare it then use a taster to check the food out first. Now watch the expression on the face as it often gives the optimal indicator as to first taste impressions. This is important as often the taster doesn't want to hurt your feelings so facial expressions are critical to getting a good read. My food taster is Cathy...LMAO right now!

So you are game for cottage cheese as a replacement ingredient? In all honesty there are a lot of cheese products that I do not care for. However ricotta cheese is awesome in lasagna. For instance I cannot stand eggs and never could. They make me sick. Boiled, fryed, poached and scrambled, doesn't make a difference as I get physically ill. However you put those eggs in a cake and I am just fine. Funny how that works.
