Hi Jane, I am in the process of having WLS myself. I have steadily been going down hill, physically, for the past several years. I am looking forward to the surgery as a tool to help me get my life back. Give your dad lots of positive support and reinforcement. I know that is what I need as I start this journey. Take Care,

Seems like logging into this site is a powerful thing to do to seek support. My partner's going to have lap-band surgery, and she's invited me to the info meetings, sent me info online, and shared lots of personal thoughts about the WLS. Information is power, so seeking out as much as you can, asking others' for support, and especially asking your Dad how you can best support him seems like it would be a good path to take. Sometimes we think we know what others need, or what we need, but we actually don't until we try. Trial and error. Be brave and risk asking, and be strong by taking really good care of yourself!!
