Pouch Rules--these are helping me lose again
I found these "Pouch Rules" on the teen message board and I will have to go find the teen and thank her from the bottom of my heart for putting this on her profile. I had an RNY proximal in 1992 and only lost from 310 to 240. I then regained to 320 in the next few years. I have been over 300 for 10 YEARS! Over a year ago, I got worried about my health (my heart was very irregular) and started the South Beach Diet. I could only keep it up for abou 3 months but lost 40lbs. I started walking 1 hour 7 days a week and later added weight lifting. Now down 60 lbs I was stuck in another plateau and not sure I could go any further.
Then I found this girl's profile with the "Pouch Rules" They are giving my hope. I did not get much training or follow up after my surgery. I am now following these rules and have lost 5lbs this week. The amount I can eat has gone waaaaaaaay down. I am not hungry and am not snacking. I am so excited I wanted to share this with anyone who, like me felt the surgery has failed. I could eat what seemed like large amounts of food. Following the rules has made me feel when my pouch is full and to pay attention to those feelings. The document is 9 pages long so I will just excerpt some in the next post. Then if someone will tell me how I will find how to get the rest to anyone who is interested. It is targeted to people who are several years out and their pouch and anastomosis have stretched.
Could you please send me a copy of the pouch rules?
