Does any one know of any surgeons in Ohio who do sclerotherapy for dilated stoma or other treatment to correct this problem? Thanks

I just had my enlarged stoma repaired by Dr. Christopher Thompson at Brigham's Womans Hospital in Boston, Mass. He goes down your throat with a scope and a suturing device and sutures the stoma outlet to the correct size. He also will make other repairs if possible. I hope this helps answer your question. Hi, I don't know where you are in Ohio, but I am going to see Dr. Baker in Grand Rapids MI, who does the sclerotherapy...my initial appt is this Friday.  His number is 877-877-6672.  I'm hoping this will help me get back on track.  Good luck to you!  Theresa

To be perfectly honest with you, it didn't do much for me.  I had it done twice, with some initial restriction, but it didn't last.  I understand is not uncommon to even need it done three times, but I didn't go back for a third yet.  It's so important to get back to the basics eating-wise following these treatments...don't overeat, etc.  but I found it so difficult when it wasn't working for me.  I may need another treatment, and I have been thinking about it.  I wish you all the best...I know many it has worked better for.  And I may have other issues as well.  So think positive and go for it!  Dr. Baker is wonderful surgeon.  I understand about not wanting to gain more....don't let it get too far away from you or you'll end up in the same boat as me with almost a 60 lb gain from my lowest after WLS.!  I hate to admit this, but it can happen.  You are smart to get on it right now.  The procedure itself is simple, virtually painless afterward, and recovery is easy.  Best of luck to you and let me know how you do!  Hugs, Theresa
