new to board
Just thought I would say hi. I had my origanal surgery done june of 2000 and had lost 160 lbs not do to the surgery being done right but from not being able to hold food down. I still have been able to keep off about 80 of the lbs. I found out that my pouch wasnt made the right size or that dr just does it differently. Either way it didnt work for me. I have been fighting to be able to have it redone and finally got approved monday and will be having surgery on may 10th with a wonderful new surgeon who i have the utmost faith in he is a great surgeon.

best of luck to you. Hope it goes well. Like yourself mine was done wrong I believe.
I had a Hiatel Hernia during the surgery and my surgen did not relize it. It left my stomach larger than it was supposed to be. I learned that when I was still in the hospital. I asked what happens now. He said it would most likely drop back down itself in a few days and I would still get the same effects it would just take me longer. I should of known when I left the hosptial and was able to eat or drink 6 ozs with out side effect this was not going to work out for me. But I wanted to believe what the doctor had told me. When it was time to take the tube out I was in tears and distressed I had only lost 10 lbs. and was able to consume about a cup of food with little side effect no vomitting for me at all. He again told me I would still get the same results trying to make me feel better and stop crying. I wanted to believe him so badly but unfortunately for me it's like I never had it. I bull dogged my insureance company to pay for this I lost about 2000.00 of personal funds, risked my life, went through the pain with out the result. Nothing I have ever exp. has been so devistating to me. I have an appointment with him Thursday to tell him I think he should correct it at his cost since I am now uninsured. Wish me luck.
