how does the stoma just enlarge?

I am post op 7 months..and concerned about how the stoma enlarges....I can see if it was made too big to begin with...but how does one have a successful surgery for a year or 2 years and then all of a sudden the stoma enlarges and the weight comes back? So far I have not had any problems with my stomach emptying too fast.. but i am concerned about how this happens....does it "just" happen or does it come from bad habits?? Thank you

 i am actually very curious about this as well. i am only 6 weeks post-op, but i hear it is so easy to stretch the stoma. i have read so many posts where people talk about having dilated stomas. i would DIE if i found out that this has happened to me. how do we avoid this?? can it happen over time? i am soooo careful with what i eat, but i am sure that there will be days where i over eat in my life time. hmmmm.....concerns i did not know about pre-op.....
