New Motto for me..."LIVE TO LIVE"
Surgery in 2006 lost 100 lbs....was happy..... Last March 2012 I stopped smoking, haven't had a cigarette since. Caused me to gain 50 lbs. I also stopped paying attention to what went in my mouth. Ice cream pie, candy..I was far enough out from surgery that there wasn't any reprocussions...mainly because I turned everything into "Slider Foods" Eat what you want and "wash" each bit with a drink!! BUT I can now walk up and down the riverbank without gasping for air!!!
Then in July 2012, I stopped drinking carbonated beverages, or commonly known as DIET PEPSI and replaced it for the summer with Crystal Lite. In September I began to only drink water with the exception of a few alcoholic beverages.
In March I went on another quest, to loose the 50 lbs I gained from not smoking and enjoying all those slider foods. The first day I stepped back on the scale at home was 3/7/2013 (I have always been weighed at the doctors so I knew what I had gained). Since 3/7/2013 thru 3/31/2013 I have lost 11 lbs!
I have not been dieting, but I have been choosing my foods wisely. I have found that I am not hungry and I though I miss my chocolate, I do satisfy my sweet tooth with a serving of sugar free chocolate pudding! I even will eat lunch out occasionally with a Jimmy John Turkey Unwich! All the fixings wrapped in lettuce with the mayo just no bread! I consistently aim to have 1300 calories per day.
April now brings the next step in my "live to live" plan. I will be walking 30 minutes daily. If not first thing in the morning then that evening. I am determined in this activity as well. I stopped smoking, I stopped drinking diet pepsi, given up the chocolate and I know I can be successful in my physical activity.
I am fortunate in that I have a husband who is extremely supportive as well as my family. I love them all enough to continue to strive in my quest to "live to live"!!

Hello again,
I have been hanging around, haven't left but mainly post of the Back on Track Together boards..Thought I would give everyone an update.
It's now 5/21/2013 and I'm still "LIVE TO LIVE". I log everything I eat and I do mean everything. Nothing goes in my mouth without serious thought. I continue to eat 1300 calories per day, drink lots of water and I have been walking!! Yep walking 30 minutes daily. That is the one thing that I don'g always do unfortunately..My treadmill is out of commission but the technician comes on June 1 to give me a diagnosis and an estimate. I will either pay to fix it or will purchase a new one .
Cravings, are gone...and I guess after 3 months of not putting anything in my mouth that doesn't have nutritional value my body no longer knows what those things are to crave!! I am also not constantly hungry! I will tell you, I constantly think about food but the amazing thing is it is not the bad foods that I dream. I think about the food I need to buy not the foods I wish I was buying. I do play the "numbers" game daily. I log my food and I make my decisions on what I eat based on the amount of calories I have left. We have pizza but not weekly. I then make the choice, do I want pizza in which I get 1 slice because it high caloric item or do I have chicken breast baked in fire roasted garlic tomatoes approximately 40 calories per oz which means that if I don't have a salad with that chicken breast, I can eat 9 that is nine oz of chicken!!! I can't eat 9 oz but it is much more filling than 1 slice of pizza and taste just as good bake in the tomatoes.
As you can see by my tickers, I am losing...I have lost almost 30 lbs since 3/7/2013!! If I continue on my path I will be at goal weight in 12 weeks! If I haven't that will be ok, I will continue to log and keep my calories at 1300 per month. I read on a nutritional site that if you want to loose 2 lbs per week, take your current weight time 12 for me 213 x 13 = 2769 and subtract a 1000 and that is number of calories you should eat daily but never below 1200. Now that is for a sedetary lifestyle, which I continue to say I am since I only move that 30 minutes.
That being said, I am doing it. All my lifestyle changes are paying off!, Feeling great and have a newer attitude. I'll check again soon.
