Hi All...
I had RNY in 2005, lost 170 lbs, gained about 90 lbs back...
I had an endoscopy which showed the stoma was "wide open."
I cannot afford the $30,000 for the band over bypass...so I am going for sclerotherapy.
I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this procedure?
thanks

I haven't heard anything positive I'm sorry but I would save your money. You could ask your doctor what the success rate is. I've never heard of anyone doing well long term after it.
Is there a reason you couldn't get another revision, even to redo your RNY or to a DS? Have you checked your insurance to see what they cover. There are other revisions besides the band over bypass. Maybe you need to find another revision surgeon who has more experience with the different options.

I just read about the overstich procedure. Tri
I had 3 sclerotherapy procedures done on me..... for me, it had little effect on the outlet size..... Fter third one it was not quite 1/2 mill smaller. Essentially ineffective per the surgeon who did it. And they have to be done back to back to work WHEN it is effective.... Sadly, for me,it didnot fixmy outlet size
