Sleeve to DS

I haven't posted here in a while as it has been somewhat depressing and worrisome. I was revised from band to sleeve in 2009. Band was a major mistake. I don't want to discourage anyone. But after the first 50 pounds they couldn't find my sweet spot. My high weight was 308. It felt like a hernia when tighted and would only be able to do liquids. Voimiting at work and had to go home. Very embarrassing. So I got the sleeve as I was fearful of more surgery with DS. RNY hasn't been a choice for me due to a sister having major issues with it. Dumping, dirrehea. Although she has maintained 100+ in 15 years with open surgery. I am very proud of her.  I have only lost like 40 pds with the sleeve and have stayed about the same.  I recently joined weigh****chers and lost 1 pound in 3 weeks. Wow! I am around 268. I am calling this week to meet with a couple of DS doc's in the DFW area. Dr. Provost and Dr. Stewart. I would like to get the surgery done  this year. But will be patient if it doesnt' happen. No sense in getting myself all worked up. I pray my insurance will cover this 2nd revision. I have Bluecross Antheum MIchigan. I work for an auto company based out of Detriot. With the gallbladder removed, they maybe able to code it under that. I am someone who hasn't lost 150 pounds and then gained it back. I spent a lot of money last year on getting my headaches properly diagnosed. Just found out I suffer from excercise headaches. Which my neuroliogist is a blessing! He is the 2nd I had seen. My PCP and others thought it was blood pressure etc. I have no high blood pressure or diabetes. Or a history of it in my family.  I had to get a sleep study and a MRI. Expensive! Excercise is something that I truly desire to do! Especially stuff that is fun, like salsa, swimming, and dancing. I am now ready to get this DS done and get on with the journey. Anyway, thanks for reading my post and any support you can give. God bless you all!

God bless you too. I'm preparing myself to get on the failed boards with my sleeve. It's embarassing.

Most of the people on this board over the years are people with working surgeries telling us failures what we need to do. I feel like there are a few people here that understand now. Thanks for being here, tri

I am revising from the sleeve to the DS in March 2012 when my insurance matures and will pay for some of the costs.  I had my sleeve four years ago and lost over 100 pounds but regained about 45 pounds and have been unable to lose more than a few pounds here and there.  I have stretched my sleeve and my surgeon recommends the revision.

I still have about 120 pounds to lose before I am at a healthy weight and I'm hopeful the DS will help me.

Best of luck with your revision and hopefully you can get your headaches sorted out, as I know exercise would be a benefit.  I need to do more exercise too, I believe it's a major factor in why my first WLS failed.

Hi there, How are you, I was just wondering how did you stretch your sleeve? I worry about that cause, I like to eat and I seem to be eating about every 2 hours, sometimes every hour, just like a small amount of something, like a sugar free cookie annd then a hour later will have like yogurt with granola, I seem to eat to full and I know I shouldnt do that, but I just got to have that last bite and then its to late!
I was wondering how long did u have the sleeve before you stretched it   and also how did u know you stretched it?

I would love to hear from you, how is the new surgery?
