Failed SRVBG

I had an Silastic Ring VBG 11 years ago...it worked well for about 4 years and the the staple line opened up completley...i was happy with it till it opened, I am haveing a revision, my question is...I was planning a Lap band,,,since i was happy with the restrictive only procedure...has any one had a revision from  a VBG to a lap band? if so could you share your experience (good or bad) thanks so much!

If you are happy with a restrictive procedure, I'd also recommend researching the sleeve gastrectomy.   I've seen a couple (out of hundreds) of people say they aren't losing effectively, but 99% are really happy campers.  Check out both the lap-band and VSG message boards to get more info!!!  Good luck.

Thanks for the reply!...I looked into the sleeve, but found out my insurance doesnt cover it...so  lap or RnY are my choices...  : (

Run away from the band as fast as you can it is the least effective and has nothing but problems. I wouldn't wi**** on satan himself.

I don't know anything about the band from personal experience, but from what I've heard and read, I would NEVER recommend the band to anyone.

I am 100% satisfied with RNY and would do it again in a heartbeat.
