Your 70 pound loss is excellent!  However, if you don't stay on the path this early, what is going to happen down the line when you stop losing weight?  Tell yourself (because it is true) you general well being depends on protein first, and plenty of water.  A bit or two of choices that are not so good, would be ok, but for most of us, it triggers the need for more carbs.

good luck.

I just wanted to pass along some information I found on one of the forums I think you might find helpful.
When planning your meal start with 3-4 ounces of protein, then 2-3 ounces of nonstarch vegetable, then one ounce of a starch. Do not put more than 8 ounces on your plate. (you can get a good electronic scale at walmart for around $10) Eat  the meal in the same order protein, vegetable, starch within 15 minutes. Do not drink for 1 to 1+1/2 hours after the meal. That is the hardest part. But if you drink a cup of fluid so you are done 15 minutes before the meal you will not be so thirsty.  Do not snack in between meals.
I found this rigid measuring system really helped me as I hate exercise.
Good Luck

Okay - first I think it is sad that you feel like a failure after losing 70 pounds in six months. That is awesome. What other time in your life would you be able to say such a thing. I have lost 70 pounds in almost 6 months and I am loving it!

That being said, I have also noticed that eating is a bit easier now, I have a new routine, and it is easier to make bad choices. The surgery is a tool to help you, but we still need to make the best choices we can. My advice would be to:
1. Track all your food - this has been my saving grace so far
2. Drink a lot of water
3. When you exercise, mix it up. This usually helps to jump start your weight loss. Do cardio and weights in intervals. Don't do the same thing all of the time. Our bodies have memory and get used to trends in eating and exercise. Mix it up.

I wish you the best of luck with the rest of your journey.

so its almost two weeks later  ...how are U doing weight wise Hun ?

Are U and that  hot Hubby  of yours going for a 15 minute walk around the neighborhood  after meals  ? ( that really  revs up the metabolism and makes for nice one on one bonding time too ) ?

Exercise doesn't have to be a big production ! and walking is GREAT  - its enough

Are  U eating  lots of fresh veggies  and spring salads with fat free  dressing ?  drinking before eating and not  drinking with or for an hour after meals ?
