Is this a stall or is the weight loss over?
Hey everyone!
I use to post alot, but then stopped because I started feeling like a failure at this weight loss thing. I'm hoping that this isn't the end for me. Long story short, I had my (RNY) surgery last January, I went in surgery at about 311lbs. by 6 months I was 260 and that's where I've been since the summer. One of the problems I can see is that I started a pt job in May that really consumed and is still consuming my time, and ate up a lot of exercising time. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get back on track or even if I can.
I started going back to the gym last week....at 4 in the morning because thats the only time I have right now, I just don't know what I'm doing. I just don't, and it makes me depressed and I'm sure I'm consuming more slider foods then a should.
Can anyone give me any advise?

You're done!! Face it if you only lost what you could have on a regular diet you are fooked.
Excercise will help but what you put between your lips won't unless its a lettuce leaf !!
Go back to Dr. and demand he checks you out and insist on a revision !!
Join weigh****chers and go to overeater annon as you have lost your way.
Good luck to you.

I certainly hope this post is a joke and not meant to be taken seriously. I would hope we can all be encouraging. Sure, the OP may be in a tough spot but we are all human and all fall down at times. The challenge is how we pick ourselves back up again! Good luck, OP.

if it is any consolation, I too and sure many others are in same boat. I been out now 2 and half years and 6 months to date my weight loss stopped dead. I have done all I am suppose to do. I started at 372 and am now and have been since 6months out 268....I am disgusted and frustrated. I see others who are skinny since their rny and here i am still FAT when people see me they do not even know I had surgery due to still looking fat. I haven't gained but cannot loose and am very dissatisfied with the outcome of my surgery. My daughter had the band at same time and she looks wonderful....I think I should have done the same. Easy for others to say go get a revision....I do not have time to take off to do that now, I am now a single mom and job does not pay benefits and who feels like going through all that crap again to get that done. I feel your agony over this and sorry to above reply, but that was a bit harsh on her and unkind in my book, when there is more statistics then just slipping off a regimen....I hardly eat much and only some things not suppose to one in a while and still NO WEIGHT LOSS...I firmly believe it was not done tight enough or correctly and it wasted my time and my efforts now and I am in same boat I was 2 years ago. I even still go to support groups. It just did not work for me like others.
I had my RNY on 11/22/10 and lost 30 lbs the first few weeks, since then I have not lost anything nor have I gained. I take my vitamins, water, protien and watch what I eat but I have no sign's of having surgery except for the scars. I mean I can eat and not get sick. I get full fast but I'm hungry again within 2 hrs....any advise?
The surgery itself will only do so much, as it's just a tool. I'm not judging but just some things to think about: Are you REALLY working the system? Not drinking with your meals? Staying away from slider foods? Eating lean protein and veggies? There are PLENTY of ways to get around the surgery. Your surgeon can't help you unless you're helping yourself. If you're HONESTLY dilligent about eating the way you SHOULD be eating and you're still not losing weight - then go in and see what's up. But otherwise, I suggest getting back to the basics. The people who have gotten 'skinny' on this are the people who have put more focus and thought into changing their lifestyles for good.

Thanks to everyone for their replies! I truly appreciate them.
The last poster was right....you made me think...I'm I seriously doing all I can do, and the answer is honestly no.
Since I posted this, I stopped my part time job, and started going to the gym...I've managed to drop 10lbs and it must be noticeable because once again, everyone is commenting on how I've lost weight...just like this time last year. So, I'm feeling good and trying to be positive.
I actually managed an hour on the elliptical and I've taken to going to Zumba at least 2-3 times a week....we'll see if this makes a difference.
I WILL stop eating and drinking...that is soooo huge for me, because I do it unconciously.
Like I you said, it is a tool, and I need to figure out a better way to use it. I'm stopping at nothing!

I havent posted in a long time either because I stopped losing weight after 100 pounds with 60 still to go....and it so depressing I lost all faith in myself. I came on here today and yours was the first post i saw. I have come to the same conclusisions you have....thanks to your post I will now get back on track. It is very depressing to see others lose so quickly without any exercise, and we have to put forth 150% to get where they got with no effort. It all comes down to how much we want to succeed and what are we willihng to do for that success? It certainly helps to know we are not alone and we will reap the same rewards, but it will take more effort and we just HAVE TO KEEP AT IT!!! We WILL get there. Thank you for posting! I needed to see it! Good luck to you!
I totally agree with you....there are some (us) that do have to put forth more effort than others and I have a couple of theories about that, but ultimately we had this surgery to get healthy, and if I have to Zumba 4 times a week, or take a spin class I will because ultimately I want working out to be like breathing...something I do without even thinking :0)
Good luck on the weight loss...I'm about 25lbs away from saying I lost 100lbs....so good luck to ya!!!
