WHY DIDNT I LOSE THE WEIGHT??? WHY
LIAR LIAR LIAR A LOT OF PEOPLE THINK WHEN YOU DONT LOSE THE WEIGHT THAT YOU DIDNT FOLLOW YOUR DIET. Well two yrs. later come to find out that there are several reasons why some people dont lose the weight. I was 415 i only lost 60 pounds the first yr. CHEAT?? I WOULD DUMP HORRIBLY AND STILL DO. I am heartbroken so last yr. i gave up. I have friends and family that had the rny and they look smashing. I am still fat and miserable it is so unfair. Im not blaming my surgeon because they went to him too. and they look great. At this point I dont know what to do it hurts so bad to go around people who had the same surgery as I and they got results. I lost, I really lost not weight but the battle. REVISION? Why ? it wouldnt work for me nothing ever does.
I feel your anger and disappointment. I don't know why you did not lose the weight. There does appear to be a sense of things being "unfair" and IMO that is a dangerous place to visit much less move into. If life was fair we would have not have to suffer with being overweight and unhappy with that. You have to make a decision and a commitment to either 1) be "fat and miserable" or 2) start over and tightened things up that had worked when you first started your weight loss journey. Either one you pick takes work and energy but there is no middle ground this late in the game.
Seek support from your surgery friends, your doctor and things that are helpful to start over or keep doing what you are doing and see which one works for you and feels better in the long run.
Good luck and be your best support NOW.

No disrespect doc but I really dont think you have the answer neither does science. I can say this some people simply dont lose weight after wls. Im not talking about cheaters and people who dont exercise. Im talking about people like me who worked out 3 to 5 days a week. Drank water and protein drinks like a fish and only dropped fifty five to sixty pounds in a yr. of course you are a dr and you would say oh simple do that again and in four yrs you would lose two hundred and forty pounds. LOL Ok.
I too did not move mountains of fat off my frame I did not even lose 100lbs.
I regained almost 30 lbs back, and went back to my surgeon and he revised my RNY. I still have not lost any more weight but and have plateaued at 204-206 since I left the hosp.
I hope that when I really get back into exercising again it will move. Don't give up go back see the dr and join overeaters anon.
I'm still hoping to be a proper size 12/14 one day ^_^

I am not a "doctor" or a "phd" I am someone *****ponded to your post. I did it in the spirit of support and if you are going to be mean spirited in your reply you will not get much support or help if that is what you are looking for. Your asked a question, I gave you an answer, not an attack. I used the words you used and I hope things get better for you.
Good luck.
Thanks for the reply i am not mean by the way. I just see the difference with some peoples attitude that was blessed to lose the weight opposed to some of us who didnt. The number one thing you hear is oh you didnt follow the wls diet number two thins is you didnt exercise. i just wanted my voice to be heard because I did all that and more. I can remember some weeks I would go to the gym then later in the evening walk two and three miles with my daughter. Drink water like a fish, etc. anyway I see my surgeon next week almost 3 yrs post op. Maybe a revision but 50/50 chance I'll do it.
Hi, I think you bring up a very valid point that not all people have success with WLS even when they follow the rules. I had two lapband surgeries, long story, and recently had a revision over to a bypass. My lapband surgeries failed and I had major problems from the start. I decided that I owed it to myself to go for the revision even though I know there are no guarentees.
I really feel for you and I understand your frustration and disappointment. I really wish you the very best!
