reversing sleeve plication
Hi there,
I had my plication surgery in July 2010.
I had a complication in late December which required me to have a perforation repaired. I just got done with a follow up appointment with my surgeon. I asked him about the possibility of reversal or revision. He told me that reversal and/or revision would be extremely risky because of all the scar tissue that has formed around the plication sutures. The risk for leaks because of all the damaged tissue would be very high.

It can be done but it's very tedious work and hard to do. Your risk for leaks, perforation, and bleeding are very high. Your safest option for revision if that is what you are looking for is DS. They would just leave your stomach alone and do the intestinal work.
I remember when you first got your surgery you were not happy with it. Is it still just a matter of no restriction or is it something else?
