Hi All...wow I haven't been on this website for at least 3yrs.
I had RNY lap in SSF KAISER in 2006. Day of surgery I was 278. I got down to 198 at one point, but that only lasted a day it seems. Anyway...I stayed at a steady 210-215 for a loooong time. I am now 231 and i'm TOTALLY FREAKING OUT. I never dumped, never threw up cuz of something foreign i ate, nothing. This always seemed to bug me since all of my other wls buddies couldn't keep a thing down. At that point (without sounding defeatist) I said, great...I'm the only sorry wls pt who is going to fail. I feel like my pouch has stretched. I can basically eat anything I want without much ramification. I thought sugar would kill me after surgery...au contraire! I am at my wits end...I KNOW that my pouch could have been smaller or something...I can't be the only person who is feeling this way. I have tried getting back on track...I need something more than that. REVISION. Will kaiser pay for the revision?

Making your pouch smaller will accomplish nothing at all in the long run.

You need to deal with the psychological issues involved.  Nobody holds a gun to your head and makes you eat more than you should, or makes you eat the wrong kinds/amounts of foods.  YOU make that choice, each and every time you do it.

Unless you change yourself, and alter your life skills on a permanent basis, no form of weight loss surgery is going to help you.

WLS is NOT magic.  There is no surgery out there that can, or will, control your eating.  You can stretch out a pouch, a stomach after VSG or DS, or any other form of weight loss surgery.  You do that by overeating.

At best, any form of wls is a tool, one that can help you learn to control yourself.  But, it will not do the job all by itself.  YOU have to make the changes in yourself, to permanently change whatever it is about you that refuses to keep yourself healthy.

Go get some counseling to deal with your demons.  You KNOW how to lose the weight, and you do not need a revision to do that.

But, untill  you change whatever it is about you that wants to fail, you won't permanently be able to do much about your weight.

I still MEASURE out everything I eat.  I do that because I don't want to ever get back into the habit of overeating.  I also eat till I am full, and STOP.  I don't take even one bite, no matter how good the food is, once I hit my "full signal".  I know how easy it would be to eat that extra bite or two, or to "clean my plate".  But, I also know that doing that does not keep me healthy.  So, I don't even take one tiny little bite more.

YOU CAN DO THIS.  Every bite that goes into your mouth is under your control.  You know what to do, and you know how to do it.  You just need to discover why it is that you won't actually do what you know you should be doing.

I am 67 years old (I was 65 when I had my surgery).  If an "old fart" like me can make it to goal, I know darn good and well that a youngster like you can do it.

Please, go see a counselor, and get the help you need so that you will no longer sabotage yourself.

Please don't pay any attention to the asshole Old Mental.

Take a look at this thread: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/amos/4081885/quotHead-hung erquot-and-the-DS/

You can force Kaiser to pay for a revison to a DS (with some help).  Come over to the DS board and learn more.

I am an over eater and my weakness is easy foods like crunchy crackers and pretzels. I too can eat anything with the the exception of sweets, but I don't crave them and they do make me dump.
However, my surgeon told me the absorption capabilities in your tract does grow back and pouch size will increase over time to accomodate more food.
I am gaining weight back a little at a time and I need to empty my pantry of all the tempting things that can sabotage my thinking.
I don't know if your ins will pay for a revision but ask and appeal if you get denied till you get results.
Good luck.

I'm going through a similar situation.  I had R/Y in 2004 and lost 120  pounds.  I've regained 70 in the past couple years.  I am on this site now to get back on track and lose the regain plus.  If you'd like, we could support each other and get this thing licked for good.  What do you think?
