Hi.

I am back after a long absence.  140 pounds lost and 80 pounds back.  Always said I'd NEVER be one of those failures who gained weight back after all that work, but I did.
Chicken wings and beer, alot of both, got me through a difficult divorce that happened AFTER I had surgery (also very common).  I am the stereotype of a failed WLS patient.
But now I am back and want to find a sliver of my former self.  I know she is in there and I want to coax her out of that negative space and bring her back out into the light of success...

Any support would be greatly appreciated as I need to be reminded of the positives, that I kept 60 pounds off and that I was formerly successful when I used the tools that were at my disposal.  Thanks in advance for keeping me in your thoughts.

I have regained some wt. as well, but i don't look at it as failure.........
I just needed to get serious again and be conscince of what I WAS......doing which was nothing right, so don't beat yourself up... start over....like before!! Remember??? I do know how hard it is...but all I can say is that I'm seriously trying.. I need to loose 60lbs to make it to my docs orginal goal for me!! I'm doing WW-points system and it's working too.. I lost 4lbs last wk.. My problem was that I got too lazy & comfortable and was doing nothing!! I had a baby in 09' but I only gained 13lbs. and gained 23lbs. after my son was born, so that's why I'm trying again!! and I really hate to excercise, but I know it's the only thing that really helps w/the wt. loss so what choice do I have??? we know what to do.. we are here for one another and I will be here for U!! if you need me too!!
Peace. jbug Hang in there!! we can do it just be patient with your self too!! Keep me posted!!?

Please Please Please....be encouraged... I have had some real struggles with my journey as well. I had weight gain due to a miscarriage and I just didnt take the weight off. I have 50 pounds to lose to get to goal and I am realizing that  my success is tied to my motivation. YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR MOTIVATION BACK. I remember when I first had surgery everything I did was about my journey. I stayed on this sight because I love my new tool. My advice is to spend time securing your motivation again....spend time everyday looking at before and after pics. Take time to do some research regarding what your caloric intake need to be to reach your goal and then look for menus so you can get a real visual of what you lifestyle going to be. It may sound crazy but i found  reconnecting with other wls patients is a HUGE HELP...if you like you can connect with me on facebook I am always posting motivation  for my WLS fam....Please know that you are not alone and that you will get it back together because you still have a tool that works...

I think it's a good time for a reminder that obesity is a disease and not a character flaw. It's a disease where there is no cure, only treatments. The rest, it's up to us. We have always justified food. We are sad, we eat. We are angry, we eat. We are happy with family at a holiday, we eat.

Changing that mindset is no easy task but you know what I have learned? It's easier to give up that donut, the chicken wing, the beer, the hot bread (in my case) than it is to face ourselves in the full length mirror. And THAT is what we need to keep remembering. You have "x" food in your hand? STOP and think, do you want the food more than you want thin? If so, go for it an enjoy. It's not a sin to carry extra pounds. It's a choice.

When you take back control life gets much easier.

I'm not trying to sound preachy, just offering my own experiences.

I can totally relate to you! After losing 130 I gained 50 back because I ate wrong. I have always kept up the excersize in fact i excersize at least 1 hour everyday, however my downfall is food, I simply love it, I never dumped so that makes it even easier to eat whatever I want. I am taking down calories now and i average about 1500 a day, I didnt think that was bad but the scale just keeps going up!

Consider yourself lucky to be ALIVE.  I wish you the best in finding your weight loss goal.  My sister passed away February 14, 2010 after complication from the lapband surgery.  I recommend you find a good nutritionist who will help you establish a good eating and fitness routine.  God bless you and hope you can find strengthn in GOD to help you overcome this challenge.
