Ok Candace .... I DO think U can lose it the traditional way by low carbing ... low calorieing , exercising like crazy , drinking protein shakes instead of meals .

If U want to see how the real liteweights stay that way - go over to the LW forum and see menus and miles ... they truly DO eat like hobbits ... a lotta shakes and a few snacks

Or ....you can get PS and liposuction and get rid of some of Ur empty fat cells which will temporarily reset Ur bodys setpoint a bit lower ( like 15 lbs ) .  That setpoint will climb back up  within five years though according to my experience .

Or U can get revision surgery .... ( probably the course id choose if i had the option honestly )

sorry to be depressing ... but this is my experience ...

O dear! I lost only 50% of my desired weight loss (50 out of 100 lbs), still have tenically another 50 lbs to lose...I stopped losing weight after 10 months of losing very slowly, put it to age and slow metabolism after 50+ years of dieting...Have returned to drinking wine daily ( makes me feel great! My arthritis hurts less and I feel less sorry for myself) and enjoying my retirement, but wish oh how I wish I could lose maybe just 37 lbs and break the 200 into Wonderland!   I buy lottery tickets to get plastic surgery, but  if only DISCIPLINE were bottled in pills I could do this and get to 180lbs which is my goal!

U know what ... I think EVERYONE  here deserves a HUGE pat on the back for TRYING and keeping trying in the face of metabolic resistance and age and all that comes with ...

we are all beautiful people inside and out ... and our bodies and expanding waistlines sure are the banes of our existence .  I can only say that my personal experience is this .. U HAVE to get out and exercise  every day for at  least an hour if U want Ur bodys setpoint to go down.

It WILL STAY down if U build muscle mass while U lose fat .... one thing we ( OH ers or bariatric patients or candidates for bariatric surgery ) are exceptionally good at by the way ..... we're talented at not ONLY putting on fat but also putting on fat - burning MUSCLE  ( who knew ?! )

seriously .. statistics prove it .  So GRRRLS , get Ur butts to the gym if at all possible , or walk and run and hike and do pushups and the ab lounger ... it DOES pay off .   Yep its real hard at first ... but the GREAT thing is .. its Addictive , its makes U LOOK HOT every single day U do it ... ,makes U feel great ...and makes U HEALTHY too ... so whats not to like , right ?

And BTW  we have a wonderful supportive  daily menus and miles post on the  liteweights board every single day where U can chronicle Ur calories , carbs , and exercise and whatever else U want .   We LOVE  new posters ... keeps things exciting and fresh.... and we all help each other ....

big hugs   Ure NEVER alone !!  ( Thank God ! )

that's totally the problem... there's no consistancy... Great one day terrible the next... love exercising and pretty steady with that... Today, I feel out of control and sick on my tummy... so I am doing shakes and coffee with protein... I would say most days I don't get my liquids in and or protein... This is far more emotional for me that I initally realized or wanted to admit... I am working on it...but its a slow slow process and I am trying to be kind to myself along the way and not feel like a failure.... wow...that felt good to say outloud!

I find that if I don`t get my protein amounts in in the day, I`m extra hungry the next.  That might be part of it.  Try upping your proteins to about 130 grams or more - get it in by drinking protein shakes - and keep it up for a while; it should work.  You can also try the 5dpt and see if that will kick start your loss.

one other thing that REALLY helps me is OA meetings ( overeaters anonymous ) .  The meetings are free .. theyre even available online .... and somehow U make enough of  them , magic happens and U feel much less internal pressure to overeat .

Then when U do the STEPS with a  sponsor .. the compulsion actually ratchets down significantly PERMANENTLY .....and its a great place to model  alternative coping skills OTHER than eating excess food too ....

You can do it, but you have to get back to basics.  Get back on what worked, following your dietary guidelines as closely as possible and exercising (moderately) on a regular basis.

I was 65 when I had my surgery, a total and complete "couch potato", and I HATE exercise (I got more than enough of that during my 10 years in the Army).

If I could get to goal, there is absolutely no reason on earth why you can't do it.

You know what you need to do, now just do it.
