Hello, I had my RNY 12/17/08, I have lost 100lbs since surgery.  I feel stuck at 192-194 lbs!  Sometimes I feel never satisfied, sometimes I eat things I shouldnt eat.  I had some pizza last night, and last week actually ate a hotdog, I am not sure what is going on, I need to get back on track.  Before I would never eat those things.  Does anyone drink alcohol?  Is that ok for us to do?  I do not drink soda at all, so thats been a plus!  I just want some advice or if anyone is or has gone through this also.  Im not perfect at all....oh and btw, I have noticed that some people that liked me when I was big, dont like me now, and some that didnt like me when I was big, like me now.  I feel bad for the ones that dont like me now, but I knew that would happen, because I would change, I would start putting me first.  Some say that the bigger me was nicer, than the smaller me...lol...I dont believe I am any less nicer, I just stop trying to be a people pleaser.  Anyone else experence that?

Hi! I was wondering if you saw a councellor after you had the surgery? Did you know that MANY people go through a depression stage after surgery? It is more common than we think. If you are stuck at 192-194lbs then maybe see a dietician or simply change your lifestyle a little, for example more exercise. Mostly the lack of motivation and not feeling confident is the ultimate cause no matter whatever these spamming forum joiners say. It is psychological and the people who have lost weight successfully swear that it was a change in their body, attitude and mind that did it. Maybe it is to do with some of your friends not being there anymore. But then again if what you say is true and that you did a lot to please people than they don't sound like very nice people at all. I would recommend 3 steps to get back on track:
1) Figure out what's going on up there in your mind - are you happy? with yourself? with your family and friends? your job? etc etc
2) Look at the foods you are eating - have you got enough fruit and vegetables in your diet? Are you eating less calories than you are burning off? That doesn't mean you necesarilly have to eat less. Many green vegetables contain heaps of nutrients and not many calories.
3) What exercise are you doing? and are you doing enough of it? Remember the amount of calories you burn off has to exceed your calorie intake for effective weight loss.
I hope this helps! And good luck!

try not to worry about things that u cannot control (how people perceive u now after the weight loss)........if u were a "good person" before the surgery ,u are probably a good person now.......losing 100lbs certainly changes u, but it should not have mad u an a..hole........people say the same about me, and I've lost a little more than 200lbs......part of the benefits of  losing that much weight is the ability to walk through the world with more confidence if people take that as conceit or "big headedness"....owell,......what can u do.

now, if your weight has settled in at 192-194 for several months now, then u are taking in about as many calories as u are burning...........be careful here....u said your diet has started to change for the not so good lately......if you don't start burning more calories soon u may see some weight gain............believe me , i know........i haven't gained any weight, I've been the same weight for a year now (actually about 5lbs less) ........but i eat and drink alot of things i "shouldn't"  ie.. coffee, booze, snacking, etc........but i am burning those calories off by maintaining a running/walking program which controls this...

u can always go back to the "basics"........as u did right after surgery to try and "reset" yourself.......don't forget what a gift u have been given.......honor that gift by not letting your bad habits get the best of u........good luck......

If you have lost 100 lbs. you are definitely not a failure.  Normal weight people eat pizza and hot dogs too.  Most RNYers can still eat pizza and hot dogs but just can't eat as much as before.  I have friends that had RNYs and they drink soda.  They are 5 years out and have tremendous restriction still.  They burp from it.  Alcohol hits me like a Mac truck.  I only drink when I am with people I trust.  As far as the friends go, they will get used to you.  Really...no worries things are going great for you.  As far as weight loss you are ahead of schedule.  If you click on Zane Prewitt by my name and then go to his home page, he has a weight planner (which I wish I would have seen 4 years ago).  Put in your starting weight and it will tell you that you are not even supposed to have lost 100 lbs. until you are 1 year out.  You will see the weight loss really slows down after that.
Congratulations,   Daisy
