I am not sure on all the details like that about my surgery but I have not had dumping yet or gotten sick at all. I take all my vitamins and i have went down 2 pants sizes and 3 shirt sizes but the scale doesnt really move so I guess the real question is should I be worried? And don't be worried at all! I had lots of stalls in my journey. Just hang in there and keep being compliant. It will come off, I promise!
If you are going down in clothes size you have NOTHING to worry about. Like the other person said you are still healing. This means you will be occasionally be retaining fluids, which with change weight. Also you are working out. muscle weight more than fat. If you are on a heavy workout schedule you will gain some weight but will still go down in measurements. Pay attention to that, not your scale.
Take your measurements... when you hit a weight stall-- measure yourself for a couple of weeks, and you'll be amazed to see your body is still changing! My body's routine is to loose about 6-8# (in a couple of weeks) then "rest" for about 3-4 weeks, then another big drop, then "rest" again at one weight for some time... During those "stalls" or "rests" is when I tend to drop inches and I find my clothing getting looser.
Track your protein, calories for awhile as best you can- if you can't seem to budge the weight, you might need MORE calories in order to get your body the fuel it needs to burn the wieght off!(sound wierd, i konw- but it's like adding oil to an engine -without it your motor will eventually puff and give out, with it, things tend to move along pretty steady!)
If you can, log your meals and activites then compair weeks when you see weight drops and likewise just inches changing... it will help you repeat menu's that tend to feed your body what it needs to keep burning efficiently.
I print off my food journal and mail it to my NUT every now and then. She reads through it and calls me with comments about some of the menu plans (too many carbs here - or how about substituing this for this) and when my labs were a bit low, she was able to see I had slipped a bit in some of my intake... it's a way to look back and track what works!!
I remember the first few months were hard - I had some fast loss, then stalls- and felt like I was just not getting into the right groove with this thing.. then realized my body needed to adjust and get into it's new rythem... and though I'm losing slower than many others with RNY, I'm still losing and I feel so so so much healthier and happy!
