Hi OH People,

I used to come here diligently when I was post-op and have gotten far away from where I was when I left.  It's time to get back to the me, I was meant to be!!

At my best I lost 110 pounds...at my worst I'm at my current weight, but that's okay.  This too shall pass, and I'll get to the point where I am comfortable with my new NEW body again!!

The worst thing I could have possibly done for myself was leave the support groups behind!!  My family loves me, but they don't always support the changes that need to be made.  My friends support me, but they don't always understand my particular struggles, and here I'm accepted no matter what!!  That's the kind of unconditional support I need and EVERYONE who comes here deserves!!

My apologies for not having my profile all filled out again, but the new format will take some time and effort to get re-filled!! Any questions in particular, feel free to ask...I'm not shy!!

Thanks in advance for your help and support!

Hi Martina,

I had an RNY and I think it was disdal.  Unfortunately, I've forgotten which type is which, so my apologies for that.

I had it done at USC by doctor Katkhouda, and I liked the fact that it wasn't staples!!  He was actually a specialist in gastroenterology (sp?) so he actually sutured/stitched me back together!!  I don't have any doubt that he and the other staff did an excellent job, I just know I could have used a lot more post-op help than I got!!

Hope this helps,

Amy
