Carie - What progress is any have you made since surgery? As you know, VSG is a purely restrictive operation and like all other WLS is can be eaten around. I'm still less then 2 months out from my VSG but have had pretty good progress to date. I'm only taking in around 850 calories a day. I was told that women need to be around 750. Do you know your daily caloric intake? Also, I would try posting on the VSG board here to get more VSG specific info.

Carie, Didn't your doctor provide you with any nutritional counselling so you would know how/what to eat at what stage of your recovery?

Well, what are you doing now?  How many calories?  How many protein grams are you consuming daily?  How many white carbs?  How many total carbs are you eating?  Are you tracking your food?  Where?

We need a bit of a starting point and we can help, no problem!

I wonder if patients going to Dr. Almanza Reyes because he is so inexpensive know they will have no nutritional counselling ahead of time...  This is awful!!

I think you need to get a grip. People going to Mexico should know there will not be a lot of nutritional follow-up.

I got a post op guideline from my coordinator while I was still pre op and got a 4 page handout for post op issues while I was in Mexico.

The original poster says she got a email with instructions. Wonder why she didn't use that?
