New and Confused
Hi,
I'm having a little trouble figuring out the navigation around here (I have similar problems with my backyard some days...) so I'm not sure if this is the right place or not. Well, hopefully, it is, so here goes.
I had a RNY in 1/03. The surgery went well and I didn't have any problems with the surgery itself. Unfortunately, the anesthesia set off a pretty severe depression (my doctor's theory, anyway) and I had to start on anti-depressents. Nothing like taking meds that make you hungry to counteract surgery to keep you from being hungry - needless to say, this did not go well.
I regained a good bit of the weight I'd lost. About 4 years ago now I decided to try low carb (having diet drinks that taste good helps considerably - I literally gag on water so don't yell at me for the diet drinks, 'kay?). I lost 70lbs and managed to stay on it for 2 years but then I started having problems with stress and gradually quit the diet. It took the better part of the next two years to regain it all, for what little that is worth. I'm back to where I started from and I'm pretty discouraged at the moment.
I'm curious about the possibility of trying surgery again. I am just really not sure what to do right now - I just want to lose the weight.
Well, that probably sounds a lot more depressing than I meant it to be.
