OK, I AM 15 MONTHS OUT WITH 10 LBS LEFT TO GO, BUT HERE IS THE PROBLEM..................

WHEN I REACH GOAL, WHAT TO I DO NEXT?  HOW DO I MAINTAIN? I KNOW I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO EXERCISE BUT  IS THAT ENOUGH TO KEEP THE WEIGHT AWAY?

THIS IS PROBABLY THE SCAREST PART OF MY JOURNEY.

It's all about accountability.  Consciously knowing what you put in your mouth.  Some people do Weigh****chers, others journal at home or count calories.  Journaling is a really good tool.  If you do WW you'll have to.  I liked WW because I grew accustomed to how many points things were.  I can still tell you that a small vanilla ice cream cone from Mcdonalds is three points.. lol.  I know lots of wls programs have support groups.. join one.  It makes it easier to be around people who are going through the same thing.  Even though I am a revision and still technically a band, I am a pro at yo yo dieting. : )  You can always email me for support!  Good luck!

Yes I have a band right now and I am going to have the band removed and revise to the VSG.  This has yet to happen - I've had a lot of trouble with my surgeon's office.  Why hasn't the VSG worked for you?  How big is your pouch?

i had the vgb, (vertical gastric banding) and i a scheduled for the roux en y, my insurance is healthlink , and yes they are paying for it, i have had to go through a series of appointments, and i had to loose 30 lbs, on my own, i go for my last check up on march 2, and my surgery is locked in for march 25.  i am very nervous, i have had to have counseling, and go through several different steps to get to where i am at. everyone wish me luck.

I am in the same boat as you. Mine was almost 12 years ago.  I was never told what to do after or how to choose foods, etc.  I am in the process of a revision.  Just a few more appointments, lose 10 lbs, and they submit to the insurance.  ::crossing fingers and praying::
