Following the program but not losing weight

I am 1 month post bypass and am lucky if I lose 2 lbs/week.  I measure my food, get my protein in most days, but only walk/bike 2-3 x week.  I am hungry all the time but only eat at meal and snack times.  I was able to manage this rate of weight loss with weigh****chers and don't understand why I am not losing more weight. this is so depressing.

Diane,
Just hang in there and keep doing what you are doing. At 1 month out, it could be your first plateau, but it will pass. Try upping your water and maybe adding a few more minutes to your walking. We all go through them. I would not consider losing two lbs a week a failed surgery. Unfortunately, some just lose slower than others. But, two lbs a week is great!!

What does your surgeon say?  Does he/she have a nutritionist on staff you could talk to?  One thing I heard regarding plateaus was to eat at the same time every day.  That helps your body move out of the "i'm never going to be fed again" mode which makes it hold onto every calorie.

I'm sorry you are struggling so; I would be discouraged as well.  But it could be just a passing thing.

Good luck.
