How many cc's in your band??

Hi.
I had my lap band surgery in Sept 06.  To date I have lost 110 lbs.  I struggled for a long time and didn't get restriction until about 9 cc's.  It was very frustrating watching others drop their weight and getting to goal, while I was slowly losing.
I finally started getting restriction and before I kew it the weight was coming off.  I got to under 200 lbs and was trilled because I never thought I was going to get there.  I could see my goal weight and could almost touch it!!!
Now lately the weight seems to be creeping back on.  I am up about 10 lbs from my lowest weight in June.  I have gotten 2 fills in the past 2 months and now have 12.8 cc's in my band.  The nurse practioner said if I need another fill I will have to have it done'under Xray.
My question is...how far can the band be pushed?  Am I going to hear the Dr. tell me that there is nothing more that he can do and I will slowly gain the weight back and find myself over 300 lbs again???  Someone told me that the band could probably be pushed to 15 or 18 cc's.  Has anyone heard that?
Any advise would be welcome.  Thanks!

Hi Robin.  I currently have 15cc in my VG band and still do not have optimal restriction. Lost weight after surgery but I have only lost a total of 70 pounds and I need to lose another 50. I had an xray a month ago and it showed that at 14cc I really still did not have a proper pouch. Its very discouraging reading all these posts from lap band patients that are losing weight with just a few fills. I am at the point where I just keep asking myself, what I am I doing wrong? I have an appointment on Dec 1...will probably get another fill. NP says we can keep going with fills till I have the proper restriction but geez its been 2.5 years and I'm still not there. UGH,,,,,,:(   I do have to say though my NP has been great, very supportive as is the entire staff at Dr. Kwon's office. I do not regret the surgery at all.

Hi, Im glad I read this, Im about 9 months out, have lost about 60 lbs and I just seem to go UP 3 DOWN 3... I know Im eating more than I should, I just dont feel full. I have a 14 cc band and am currently at about 8 cc's. Ive cancelled my last 2 appts because Im discouraged. I spent the weekend with my daughter and she told me she's dissapointed that Im not still losing. Damn I was pissed, because 1. I AM DOWN 60 lbs... 2. I am mad at myself. I need to reembrace this whole thing and make an appt for another fill. I wish you guys all the best in getting where you need to be. This wasnt easy and still isnt.

I don't regret the surgery, that's for sure.  If I didn't have the surgery I don't know where I would be today.  I was over 300 lbs when I had the surgery.  I am familiar with Dr. Kwon's office, I live in Middletown.  My doctor is from Westchester.  I think I just need to suck it up and get another fill under xray and see what they have to say.  I have restriction, just not enough, or what I feel is enough.  I just want to lose the final 20-25 lbs to get to my "goal" and stay there.  I appreciate your telling me your story.  It defintely helps to know I am not alone out there!!!

Hello to all,  I don't write this to give any great insight. I know how you all feel because you want to lose more, that is why you got the surgery- to get to your goal weight. I do not dismiss that at all but I want to say CONGRATS on the 110, 70, and 60 lbs, respectively!!!!! That is really amazing progress!!!! You WILL get to your goal if you could do all that. Good Luck with the rest of your journeys!

Hi, How are you doing since your last post?  I'm facing some similar frustrations as you.  I'm pretty maxed out in my band.  My band is 9 cc, and I'm at 9.6.  I can't seem to drop another lb, and don't have a lot of restriction.  I do have some, but not as much as before.  I'm afraid I'm going to get to a point where I have none and my band is full.  I'm about 15 lbs away from goal, but struggle up and down with the same 2 lbs.  I've put on about 2, and keep losing and gaining it.  Ugh!

Well, I am still struggling.  Up 3 down 2.  I am planning on going for a fill at the end of April.  Unfortunatley, that is my only option since I can't take a lot of time off work.  I am still frustrated.  I have some restriction...but not like I did when I was losing weight.  I can't eat like before the surgery....but I can eat things I probably shouldn't be able to eat.  I am just trying to hang on until April and see what happens from there.  Day by day...day by day.
