Hello all my name is Kylie and i had RNY December 29 2005.  I lost 135 pounds and felt really great and now then I got pregnant and had a beautiful baby girl may 2 2008.  Since then I have put on about 40 or 50 pounds i think all of my clothes are getting to small again and i feel very sluggish and tired all the time.  Do you think it is possible to get back on track and lose the weight again or do you think i have stretched my pouch out so much that there is no hope for me.  Thanks for listening.

Kylie, there is always hope. Go to the "Back On Track Together" group to get some major support and uplifting stories. Your pouch will never be as large as a normal person's stomach. You CAN get back on track and change your life for the better! You are feeling sluggish because you are out of control with your addiction and eating the bad foods that taste SOOOO good on the way down and then make you feel like crap later. Make the choice for life--you want to be around for your little daughter for a long, long time!

Kylie, it's never too late to get back on track. I'm not saying it's going to be easy but as long as you are determined to get it back off you will be fine. I too had gained weight. Back in Feb of 09 I had ballooned back up to 225 and I wanted to just kill myself for letting myself get that fat again. But I tell you what I got back on track and as of today I weigh 178. I didn't go on a diet to lose the weight or even stop eating the things I like however I did cut back on the amount of food I ate. Your pouch still works. Instead of me eating a cheeseburger I would get a grilled chicken sandwich and instead of eating the whole sandwich i would cut it in half and throw the other half away so that I would not eat it. It's little things like that you can start doing and the weight will come back off.

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement.  I know I can do this. I was at the doctor today for bronchitis and my weight was up to 210.  I refuse to let this get me down and I will lose the weight that I have gained thank so much for the advice about the sandwiches something I have never thought of.

Kylie you just have to start over and do everything from a different angle. You now know what not to do, now you have to create a daily routine of what to do. This process is one day at a time as well as at your own pace. You dont want to put strain on your body by rushing things because of the frustration. You gained that weight back for a good cause, you gave birth to a beautiful baby and thats worth the weight. Try walking daily, drink plenty of water, lower your caloric intake little by little. Sure you can get back on track, its just going to take some consistency and discipline on your part. Stay as optimistic as possible and know that some days you will feel like quitting but on the days you feel good about your journey, get up and make something happen. You can do it! What type of products are you taking to help you lose weight?

Kylie,
I am 5 years post op and had a baby too. I had surgery the first time because, though I was already fat having a baby caused me to gain another 150 pounds very quickly. Now, having a baby has done it to me again. I have gained back 85 pounds after losing 230. I feel ashamed and discouraged also. I read all the replies you got and feel a bit inspired myself.

Hi Kylie,

I had surgery a month before you did and I have gained back 40 pounds.  I never got down to where I had hoped ( no baby involved).  I'm having a lap band surgery in December. I can relate to feeling frustrated and ashamed and not sure anything will work.  I think I remember you from when I was very active on the board 5 years ago- just looking to connect to others in a similar boat.

peace to everyone else who has posted in this thread as well.
