I have regained 90lbs and have been denied twice for a Revision. Obviously I need to go back to the bases of the program and work hard at losing the weight on my own.
My question is to everyone, what is the origianal program you were given to follow for the rest of your life?
I need advise and as much info as possible to get back on track.

Thanks,
Michaelle H

Hi,

There is a group on here called Back On Track Together.  Just type that in the search window under "groups" above.  It's a great group that works with each other to get back on track.

Also, you may want to talk to a nutritionist.  I know what it's like to get in an eating rut.  Breaking free takes alot of effort and determination.  There may be some issues from your past you need to face and resolve if you can.  Cir****tances, crises, traumas are things that can be triggers for us.  Even a food choice can be a trigger.  We be complex creatures.  That's for sure.

I don't know if I helped much.  Baby steps, take some baby steps towards getting back on track.  We are here to encourage anyway we can.  We all need it!

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

You might want to try the 5 day pouch test.  www.5daypouchtest.com.  It can be a good way to start getting back on track.

The others had some good ideas, but if you are seriously thinking of a "revision", check out the DS forum. So many there have had revisions from either RnY or from the lapband, and we have had the DS (duodenal switch). you must go on that forum and read what others have done. Also, check out www.dsfacts.com and www.duodenalswitch.com for info on the DS, the best surgery out there, the better chance of losing the weight and keeping it off, better all around eating, a more normal lifestyle, and you will enjoy life to the fullest. I had the DS in May and couldn't be happier. I had gained 70 of the 90 I lost with the RNY, and now down 40, so going back down and I couldn't be happier.  If you were denied a revision, you probably did not check with the right surgeons. Check out the list at either of those two sites. Good luck.

I LOVE MY DS!!!!!

STRIVE TO BE THE BEST YOU CAN BE AND DO THE BEST THAT YOU CAN.

Check out
www.dsfacts.com  and www.duodenalswitch.com
for all the accurate information on the great DS, and find surgeons in your area or around the country or out of the country.

I couldn't have done without all the great peeps on this board.

It doesn't matter what surgery you have,, if you don't stick with what your suppose to do,,
you ARE going to gain weight.   I had the rny over two years ago,, and no problems at all,,
put your mind on what you need to do,, and do it,, it will work.,,

No offense but if you had RNY you aren't done with diets.
Go to the revision forum and ask the masses who've had RNY and are gaining. It's a lifetime diet after the first three years (less for some).

I would recommend counseling.  I think maybe you are turning to food for a reason other than hunger.  I did it about 6 years ago before I even considered surgery dealing with an eating disorder and I will tell you it changed my life.

Get on a site like Livestrong's Daily Plate (free) and join up. Chart everything you put in your mouth. It will set a calorie goal for you based on your age, weight, activity level, and desired weight loss per week.

Try to shoot for as much lean protein as possible, then veggies, and fruits, and some complex carbs. You CAN do this.

Eat every few hours so you don't get super hungry. PLAN your meals and snacks.

Drink your water, take your supplements. You CAN do this!!!!
