rose or tt?

Hello everyone!
A little background, I had rny 5/2005.  Lost from 239 to 145ish.  Had two babies since then, one 8 weeks ago.  With my second post op pregnancy I gained up to 197, but have lost back to 168.  I am finding it hard to get the rest of the weight off, and feel like I can eat a LOT more than I should be able to before I am full.  So I really want to lose the rest of this weight, but I also have my heart set on a tummy tuck to get rid of the c-section tummy.  Both would be out of pocket, so for now it is one or the other.
Do I go for the rose (success stories if there are any out there), or just go ahead and get a tt when I can (6 months after the baby)?
Thanks!

As a Women's Health Care professional, my advice is to give yourself at least 6 months to lose the additional weight before doing anything. Other people who have been normal weights their entire lives lose pregnancy weight through diet and exercise, and find other ways to deal with hunger. Your post-op stomach, even if it has stretched, is still no bigger than theirs'. You have just had major abdominal surgery, and it takes many weeks for your body to heal from that. In addition, if you are breastfeeding, your body requires additional calories in order to make milk. Take it easy on yourself--Rome wasn't built in a day!

You are probably recovered enough to begin daily walks, so put your babies in the carriage and go for it! Make sure you eat salad at least once a day, drink at least 64 ounces of non-caloric fluids per day, and the best, best, best tool that I find is to KEEP A DIET JOURNAL AND DON'T LEAVE ANYTHING OUT!! Remember, you only have 23 pounds to go in order to get to 145. This is not nearly as difficult a goal as losing nearly 100 pounds! Enlist your family and friends to support you in your quest, and watch the kids so you can get an hour of exercise in, on a regular basis. Running, walking, the elliptical machine, all those are great ways to move your body and build muscle.

Baby steps will take you to your goal, Southernlady! All the best,

As Waterwench says, 'BABYSTEPS'.  lol.  I know you're anxious to be back in shape but this plastics procedure is tough.  I am certainly not a wimp about pain but my bodylift about did me in. You've had weightloss surgery AND 2 pregnancies in the last few years.  Your body is going to need to adjust, not to mention caring for a new baby & toddler.  If you do nothing else but care for your family and eat reasonably well,  I'm sure you're going to have more weightloss.  Post pardom can be hell & I had pretty severe anesthetic/sleep deprevation induced depression after my ps.  Please, just give yourself a little time before you have your plastics.  Hang in there sweetie & good luck!  Best~Barb

Hello

I had the RNY May 2008 and I had the Rose June 16 2009.  And I got some good news I'm losing weight still.  I don't know what happen that made my stomach get big.  But my doctor said some time that happen to people but I like the Rose its good for me.  Now remember this if you TT it.  Your stomach will be nice and flat.  but if you gain any weight you will become wide on the side.  I never knew that until someone on my job had it done.

Have A Nice Day

 Hi MBeauty,

I read your interesting post....Thanks for that.

Would you please tell me about "The Rose"....I had my surgery in 2007: Start weight was 221 and I've been stuck for one year at 153.....My weight loss was very slow and I was told that I was a light-weight (Whatever that meant).

I feel that I could get more than the norm into my my pouch, however, I don't dear try....I know how to control myself - no more than 1500 calories per day for me.

From the beginning (after surgery) I told my doctor that I felt that I could hold more than usual, he said gave it time......Well time is up.....HELP PLEASE...I need to get my pouch to a smaller size.

My height is 5 2' and I should be at 130 to 135 lbs in order to have the correct BMI.

Hey

forget about the ROSE.  I had the Rose done but you only loss a little not a lot.  I had to go back to see my doctor and guess what he did.  Are you ready for this is he put the lab band over my RNY and do i feel a different. You can only eat a little bit of food.  I love the having the lab band over the RNY.  Do you remember how you first felt when you had the RNY will that how you will feel when you get a filling.

Keep in touch let me know what you decide to do.

I had the RNY September 2006. In 2008 i started gaining weight back. Thus far I have gained 35 pounds back. I was sceduled for the DS but the operation was halted because of scare tissue. I am going to see a Surgeon on the 10th of November concerning the Rose procedure. Would love some feed back from you. How successful have you been thus far?
Please e-mail me back at    [email protected]

Looking forward to hearing from you.
