feeling down-need advice and support
Don't feel like a failure, Tonya! Just re-examine your food choices and keep a diet journal religiously! Write down EVERYTHING you eat and drink. Take your goal weight, multiply it by 10, and that's roughly the minimum amount of calories you need to eat every day to stay at that weight. So if you want to be 205, keep your calories to 2,050 per day. Right now you are eating at least 2500 calories per day to stay at 250. Weight loss is not effortless, and you are not helpless in the face of weight gain. I know that feeling, and it is a killer! WE make the choices, Tonya! Choose health, and your good choices will work in your favor. Good luck!
Hi,
Sometimes, the further out we get we forget to continue to work the program. We get to feeling good, getting our social lives back and just enjoying ourselves. Hey Tonya,
I know how you feel, I am 5 years out too...and I lost down to 205 from 398 now I am back at 286 as of yesterday. (8/3) I went to see my doctor and I am going to have my tummy fixed. It is a new procedure and I need it. I am scheduled for surgery on 8/7/09 and I have pre-op tomorrow (8/5) so we will see how it goes ...I will definitely followip with you.
Be encouraged

I had RNY 5 years ago as well. Went from 360 to 197 and now at 250. Still dumping and yet it doesnt stop me from eating too much and the wrong foods. I know how you feel. I wish I had never done it. Now the extra skin I had is filling out again and it's not the same. I've considered other weight loss methods and have been to several consultations. But I can't help feeling like, if I couldn't do it with surgery, why waste my time with anything else. Besides, I tried all that before choosing the surgery. Of, course my insurance refused(es) to cover the plastic surgery.....
I don't like to complain but it feels good to get it off my chest! At least I'm not alone.

I know how you feel. I had surgery almost four years ago and went from 320 to 184. I was 15 pounds from my goal weight! Then I fell in love with a awesome guy and on came the pounds. I still dump and can't eat as much, but the food choices I was making were horrible. I am now at 228 and decided that I need to do something about this weight. You are not a failure.....a failed person is someone who just sits back and does nothing to solve the problem. You are taking the first step.....acknowledging the problem. For myself, I started on Medifast to get back on the ball. It is great so far. Keep your head up!!!!
