THIS MEANS YOU PAY UP FRONT AND THEN GET REIMBURSED BY MEDICARE AND HE WILL NOT ACCEPT THE MEDICARE'S AGREED UPON AMOUNT.  SO I WONDER IF ANYBODY HAD MEDICARE AND USED DR SMITH AND HOW MUCH IT COST THEM OUT OF POCKET?

My suggestion is to find a surgeon that accepts medicare.  If medicare is the only insurance you have you will still be paying the $1000 deductible and the 20% that medicare doesn't pay.  No way would I pay up front.

What kind of supplemental do you have and what Dr. did you use?  I only have Medicare and am searching everywhere for a doctor who does the laparoscopic BPD-DS and accepts Medicare.  Thanks.  Charlee

Report him to medicare. When he accepted medicare terms, he is suppose to go by them.Only unless he has a special permit with medicare can he do that. He can't have it both ways. Found another Dr.  There are so Drs. in this business, that follow the rules. My opionion anyways
